In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953,
about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded
up and exterminated.

million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by
new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by
their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than
$500 million dollars.. The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300
percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the
criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

It will never happen here? I bet the Aussies said that too!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in
armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in
the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey
is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of
the ELDERLY. Aust ralian politicians are at a loss to explain how
public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense
was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The
Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians
disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes,
gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind him
of this history lesson..

During W.W.II the Japanese decided not to invade America because they
knew most Americans were ARMED!

Note: Admiral Yamamoto who crafted the attack on Pearl Harbor had
attended Harvard U 1919-1921 & was Naval Attaché to the U. S. 1925-28.
Most of our Navy was destroyed at Pearl Harbor & our Army had been
deprived of funding & was ill prepared to defend the country.

It was reported that when asked why Japan did not follow up the Pearl
Harbor attack with an invasion of the U. S. Mainland, his reply was
that he had lived in the U. S. & knew that almost all households had
guns.

I heard a similar thing once about the Russians during the cold war. A top ranking general said he would rather detroy a U.S. city then try to take it for fear of the armed citizens.

On a sad side note I look at the people of my generation, and think we lack the resolve to defend ourselves anymore.

You can also impose taxes. "Arsenal Tax" is something that has been tossed around, as well as "

Unfortunately, that's the type of thing that got us here in the first place. The original gun control stuff started because the coppers were outgunned buy the real original gangsters.

That and the noise...but I can see an illicit trade in components and reloading equipment. Great, more shtuff to buy before the end of January.

Where did you get your info? I realize we won't hear these numbers on the news, but the gun haters we have to deal with will immediately question a statistic's validity. Therefore, I think you should be careful in posting stats that could possibly be a bit misleading. (A simple google search will show what I mean.)

I haven't read the Australian Bureau of Statistic's reports, but I would encourage you to do so when posting statistics that supposedly came from them.

I like what everyone is driving at here, but as intelligent gun owners, we need to be legitimate in our dealings with uninformed liberals. Otherwise, we won't be able to convince them of anything.

Sorry for being sarcastic, but uninformed liberals appear to want to stay that way.
DC's gun ban only increased crime, the same can be said for Chicago.
The AW ban's expiration didn't cause an armageddon.
They refuse to believe or acknowledge that guns can prevent crime or save lives.

The Caveat:
If your uninformed liberal is an aquaintance, take him or her shooting a few times. I have converted gun scared liberals into gun owners.

That's a great point.

When a buddy of mine got married his wife was of that mindset; no guns in the house, etc. She was scared of them, but she had also never been exposed to guns, much less responsible gun owners.

A gradual coversion is possible.

Right, I can (and have) convinced people that guns aren't bad or dangerous. Sometimes it's harder to convince them that they are necessary. What I was really driving at was that the statistics need to be handled correctly, or some people will dismiss them. The 300% higher homicide rate in Victoria was actually (from what I read) a 171.43% increase. 1996 showed 7 homicides and 1997 showed 19...out of 4.5 million people.

I agree and can attest to what everyone is saying, I'm just suggesting that we all be a little careful about throwing numbers around.

Since I am never home to watch TV my GF does it for me and she told me the other day that Fresno County Sherrif Margaret Mims was interviewed about issueing CCW's. She said that she issued 500 last year alone and believes that since the criminals are gonna conceal then the folk's she is sworn to protect should be able to also. Legally!!! My application is done and my interview is set for june. Hopefully by July I will have mine. At least we have one sherrif in PRK that supports her citizens.

The stats are accurate. Gun grabbers will try and spin the stats their way, but fact is gun control laws increase, so does crime. In a UNH comprehensive study on gun proliferation and crime, not a single case study showed that increase in gun liberties caused an increase in crime. Not a single one. Most in fact showed a decrease in crime, while a few only showed nominal changes not attributed to gun laws. However, when studying implementation of gun control measures, violent crime increased in all by two cases, both where gun freedoms were never culturally prevalent anyway, like in Japan.

If this "occupy this" or "occupy that" movement continues to spiral out of control, you might as well count on some sort of gun legislation being handed down. Eventually someone is going to open fire on one of those mobs of drumb-banging free-paycheck Stalinist hippies.

I dont like corporatism any more than the next man, but I realize that without powerful economic giants, our country would be a neutered bunch of mom and pop businesses that couldn't compete globally. I also realize that if you want a car in your garadge, a tv in your house, or a bank loan for a mortgage, you need a corporation to produce it. Somehwere there lies a middle ground between the two extremes of corporate elitism and oppressive economic socialism.

Anyways, getting off track... gun control is inevitable because eventually those mobs of people are goign to stop shouting and start shooting... thus is the progression of all revolts or insurrections.

The guy who shot at the White House was an Occupier. So I think that they ALREADY started shooting. :ponder: However I agree that they will eventually start to riot and loot the stores just like they did in England. It is going to get real ugly! :guns:
