Help Finding A Five Seven

Post by JohnnyT557 » 16 Apr 2014, 10:16

Hello, I am New to this Site and Have had a question for a While now. I am Currently Searching for a FNH Five-Seven handgun, preferably a Polymer Black USG or MK2 Model. I live in Toledo Ohio And would like to find a gun store nearby that carries One. If someone could Do a Bit of searching, that would be great, because I've done quite a bit and still seem to be drawing a Blank, Bass pro even went as far as to eliminate the gun from their Website All together. If someone could get back to me with a gun store in or near toledo that stocks these pistols, I would be grateful. Thanks.

I know that some people on this forum have them and would probably sell you one. I have been looking for one for about a year and a half. I finally got one in february of this year from a friend who knew a friend who knew a dealer in washington that had an mk2 so they are definetly hard to find man but dont give up. It is the most accurate handgun i have ever shot. Its never jammed up. Its light weight. Its magazine capacity is unheard of. It has a lot of pros and not a lot of cons. So hang in there!!!

Yeah, I'm hanging in there. I may have found a place that does Special orders when I was looking on the FNH website, so if I can't get one off bass pro that's probably my next choice. I'm hoping to the deities I can get one before summer comes. thanks for the info, Every bit counts. I'll just have to be Vigilant and Remain hopeful, Keep checking up on The gun shops and See what I can do with what I know. And yeah. You're right about the Pros and Cons. There are only three cons to this gun in my opinion, and that's the price, The fact that this is one of the most elusive guns I've ever searched for, and maybe the price of some ammo. But I'm not giving up the search. Hopefully the next time I update this thread it'll be with a happy message saying I got One, you never know I guess. :)

Well, now I have another question. I've called three places around, and all three are to call me if they can Get a Five-Seven In. My question is, what has happened to these pistols? One place I called, Freedom Ammunition, Has two on backorder and is supposed to call me when they come in. But why are these pistols so elusive? Is FN slacking off on production? Or are people just buying them as quick as they are being made? If someone could answer this question, that'd be great. Thanks.

A couple years ago there was a strike at the Belgium plant; around the same time the FsN and PS90 were featured on several national gun shows, then there was Obamascare... I would say it's a combination of the platform getting more popular, overall gun and ammo purchases still above normal since Obamascare, and a steady supply of high-publicity shootings. All this working together equates to a shortage of what is mostly a specialty cartridge/weapon. Most people agree that the Five-seveN is on the front line of weapons the libs would like to ban for reasons all their own. Gun owners love to buy things they perceive as frowned on by the government.

I also wonder if the White House isn't delaying or slowing shipments of 5.7 ammo into the U.S. The White House doesn't need congress to halt ammo importation.

Hopefully they Stop striking and Things begin to cool down, I'd really like to have one of these guns. Not because the liberal <profanity>tards want them gone, but because they are guns of Very high quality. Ammo isn't a problem, finding this gun is a Problem. i'd like to Have one by this year, at least.

I would be all for buying one of those two, but I would rather pick one up from a gun store nearby, so I don't have to fumble through Shipping Costs, FFL fees, And getting the gun Shipped to an FFL dealer. I may be waiting a bit longer, but I guess good things come to those who wait, right?

Yeah, but this would be my first five seven and I've never actually seen one IRL before. I'd like to handle it, maybe aim it to see how it looks, before I buy it. So I guess I'll have to wait till FNH gets their asses in gear and pumps out the MK2s.

Anybody got one for sale or know where I can buy one? New or used is OK. Must be in excellent condition.

Thanks

Johnny, I got the opportunity to play with a Five Seven Mk2 in the store a couple days ago. The grip feels great- definitely not too big, like one might be concerned about when shopping for a FsN. It feels heavier than I would have thought, especially when holding it at arms' length. A lot of users who have held the mk2 say it feels heavier relative to the earlier models even though they both weigh nearly the same (<1% weight difference). The Mk1 is more top-heavy where the Mk2 seems to be more balanced- maybe this has something to do with the mk2 "feeling heavier".

Good luck with your search!

Thanks Dan, I'm really looking forward to having one as soon as I find it. I've heard nothing but good reviews about the Five seven and I'm definitely Buying one, when I can find it. I'd prefer polymer black, but at this point I would be Fine with FDE. Weight really isn't a Factor for me, although it really is amazing that FN created such a light gun with such low recoil. As soon as I find one I'll be test firing it and posting what I think, I'm really leaning towards A MK2, not that there's anything wrong with the USG, I just feel as if it is more visually appealing and if it really is a more balanced weight, then perhaps it is more accurate. I'll just have to remain vigilant and hope FN Starts sending 'em out soon.

You should check out Gunbroker, there are quite a few mk2 on there, as well as some mk1. The brand new mk2 I played with in the store was $1,600... whew... but if you really want it new vs used then spending the extra $$$ is an option.

Well, That's an option but i'd rather buy one from a local gun store so that I don't have to arrange For an FFL dealer, and not have to go through the extra fees. I'll just wait till FN kicks it in gear.

Their checkout process is broken; there's no way to select payment type. I sent them a message through their support system 2 days ago and no response.

If you decide to go the FFL+shipping route, here's a decent deal on a used one out of CA:

That is exactly why I would call!!! A while back, I spoke to a very nice lady there and she told me they get multiple shipments a month from FN. She told me that I could leave a deposit and it would be less than two weeks for whatever I wanted. She was so nice, I have her name written somewhere but I am not getting off the couch until I finish my drink.... So good luck, and give them a call.......

If someone wants an FsN USG, brand new in box, low serial (2007), brief-case style box with adjustable sights, my buddy is selling his safe FsN.

But he probably wants the market value, so, you should probably get one from the store.

cool thanks but I bought one on Gunbroker a couple days ago. Got to play with it at my FFL today- it looks and feels great. I'm so excited. it's a black USG with fixed tritium sights- like something straight out of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.

I take ownership of it in 10 days and will post a full review with pics after a first range day!

Yup! I got MK2 Mags for it. 3 of them. It's an FDE mk2. I just picked it up today since my LGS was closed yesterday. I'm going to shoot it tomorrow, I cannot wait. It's a beautiful gun, very light and it fits my hands perfectly. Really glad I finally found one! :)

I bought mine on Gun Broker . com and it came with 500 rounds of ammo. MKII NIB seal was never even broken on it, and 500 rounds of ammo I won for 1000$ even, and 30$ shipping.
