Had to have it
Had to have it
Picked up this Remington 700 this morning. Coolest rifle I've seen in a long time. I can't wait to get her to the range.
Re: Had to have it
Woah, very nice! Any specs on it, that barrel looks very short!

I'm guessing 16" with a pinned/welded surefire brake, in 308. Eh might be 16" without the brake as they do sleeve over the barrel.
Re: Had to have it
308. Around 16.5" with the pinned brake. Leuopold 4x-10x scope with illuminated reticle. Trigger job (best I've ever felt), free float barrel, jeweled and blued bolt.

Looks sweet! Never been a fan of jeweling... Why is everyone else? (nothing personal, just my preference)
Re: Had to have it
That's how it came. It means its fancy and special. Really I don't care one way or the other.
Re: Had to have it
I'm not a huge fan of it either, glad my Rem700 SPS Tactical doesn't have a jeweled bolt.ynoty3k wrote:Looks sweet! Never been a fan of jeweling... Why is everyone else? (nothing personal, just my preference)

Depends on the gun for me. Some look great with it others not so much.

Love to hear how it shoots with that barrel. Looks cool though.

Re: Had to have it
Probably less of an issue of how "it shoots with that barrel" than how "I shoot with a rifle".

That's a nice looking firearm!

Cool factor, plus 10. Now call us when the venison stew is ready in front of the widescreen for college game day. Jay will bring a case of beer and we'll be right over. Good luck with your beautiful baby. It's nice to see someone with the class to still enjoy a bolt action.

Haha, love that last post.
Always been a fan of bolt action rifles and am just getting back into them. My mom visited a few months back and brought a couple I left at home when I went away to college a decade ago. Little bolt action .22 which belonged to my father as a kid and was the first gun I ever held and a sporterized Lee Enfield that was given to me by a groundskeeper at some cabins we used to vacation at when I 12.
Pretty sure I've missed this years deer tag but it will give me a chance to get good with this rifle and back into the swing of hunting. Besides small game I havn't hunted in about 7 years.

The reason parts of the gun are jeweled, is the jeweling hold oil and lubes in rust prone areas. I agree it looks like alum. diamond plate.
