Hunting Rangefinder vs Golf rangefinder? what are their differences?

Post by Frank Spiller » 08 Nov 2022, 20:23

Hi, I am a newbie. I was wondering if there is a difference between a hunting Rangefinder and a golf rangefinder. I was simply interested as to what makes them distinct as their prices appear to be very varied. The use of one instead of the other is something else I'm curious about. Thanks

Range is the first thing that comes to mind - golf is what, 400-500yrd to pin? Most hunters also take their shots within that range but there are enough hunters out there who like to push out farther that there is a market for longer ranges.
Range shooters also appreciate greater magnification if the target.
Hunting ones also come with angle compensation & a few other features that can help your rifle shot but don't really help golfers.
I would use a golf finder if bow hunting but for rifle ranges, I'd go with the hunting kind.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.
