Probable Overkill

Solarforce L2P, custom drop-in from Vinhnguyen54 (3-mode: 100lm, 1200lm, strobe), aspheric lens kit, and Lighthound attack bezel. Offset mount makes it usable on the FsN. Too much?

Definitely overkill.
I like being able to switch hands if need be, this set up prevents that from happening.

What's the weight on it? Remember, too much weight on the rails can cause them to crack when shooting & it doesn't take much.

It is weighty, but not unweildy. Haven't shot it this way, but 1200 lumens on high...

I think the light might outdo the muzzle blast, Freeze. And that's a big accomplishment.

This is the light I think you would use. I built it for my PLR, but given the power, it might do well on the FsN. I plan to shorten it by about 1/3, which would make it similar to conventional lights. Having that bezel out the front is tacticool.

How will it perform in smoke or fog?

I would have to test it out. I absolutely endorse and like the fact that it has 100lm and 1200lm modes. That means I don't have to switch it out on my carbine with a close-80yd light and then back again, when I need a spot beam that can FULLY light up 100yds-200 yds. Key word is fully.

Many lights can hit that distance of 100yds, but when you actually have to take targets with even a very good optic (U.S. Optics, Swav, Leup, Triji, Aimpoint), it's a no go because of the lack of intensity at distance. And because of the gasses.

My only concern is how it will hold up to recoil, and there is only one way to test that.

How will it perform in smoke or fog?

Not great. On high, it's brighter than most cars' high-beams. Perhaps a colored filter might help. Had a little mist last night and the test was a failure; total white-out on high. Beam width @ 100yds is about 30'.
