I just saw this today: H.R. 3497 that seeks: "To protect the Nation’s law enforcement officers by banning the Five-seveN Pistol and 5.7 x 28mm SS190, SS192, SS195LF, SS196, and SS197 cartridges, testing handguns and ammunition for capability to penetrate body armor, and prohibiting the manufacture, importation, sale, or purchase of such handguns or ammunition by civilians."

Let's hope so, Buffman. Thus far I have an AR57 but not a FiveseveN yet. Just when I'm trying to clear funds to purchase or trade for one, I see this document.

They do this every year! You would figure by now they would stop trying because its not going to pass.

I certainly hope it does not pass. I guess somebody thinks if they keep introducing it year after year he well find enough ill informed votes to support it. Hearing this again does make me glad I have my FiveSeven now and that I bought a pile of ammo for it too. It just makes me want to go but more and hurry up and get my PS90 too.

The sad thing is they will introduce this bill every year even though it has never been used to kill a cop, at least here in the USA. If this gun ever gets banned it will unfortunately have to come with a shooting proven to go through a cops vest.

That makes no sense to me.
Cops are frequently shot with other calibers & those calibers aren't targeted. Sure, guns in general are on the "let's ban 'em" list but why target a specific caliber that has never been used against police and is no where near as common as the other calibers?

It does not have to make sense to you or me! They have been targeting this Five-Seven and 5.7x28mm catridge since its existence (I dont think another pistol or pistol caliber has been targeted since its existence like the FSN has) . I think if a cop gets shot with a level 2 or level 3a vest on and dies they will have there ammo to try to pursuade congress.

Seems to me that the FSN would be an ideal SD weapon in case of ISIS terrorists.
