Another Ft. Hood Shooting today

Post by panzermk2wife » 02 Apr 2014, 15:05

The shooting comes one day after the U.S. Marine Corps confirmed an FBI search is underway for a former Army recruit, identified as Muhammed Abdullah Hassan or "Booker", who was plotting a "Fort Hood-inspired jihad against U.S. soldiers."

I am so angry right now that I am gonna refrain from giving my very colorful thoughts on this......

The search for Booker has been going on for about a week now. I know every military base has been on the lookout for him. If its this guy, there gonna be hell to pay.

In my line of work I have to watch what I say. But I am sure you know what I am thinking.

They say as many as 8 people injured and a suspect has been "neutralized".
This has yet to be confirmed.

Reports now say the shooter is dead, hearing between 8 and 14 injured, several critical. I wish it were easy to keep these kinds of people off military installations but you can’t stop someone who is truly dedicated to committing mass murder.

4 confirmed dead and 14 injured.
The article reported that it started as a disagreement between soldiers.

So the other big question is where the hell is this former Army recruit, identified as "Muhammed Abdullah Hassan" that everyone is looking for?
A 19 year old home grown terrorist whose given name is reportedly "John T. Booker".

I don't think I want to know what the "disagreement" was about. It's all very sad. From what I have read was the shooter was at Ft. Hood when in November 2009.

An Army recruit who triggered a military and law enforcement alert is not considered an immediate threat by the FBI - even though the agency said he told friends he planned a "Ft. Hood-inspired jihad" against fellow soldiers" and warned it was "imminent."

FoxNews.com reported Monday that the FBI was searching for a recent Army recruit known as "Booker, also known as Mohammad Abdullah Hassan" after obtaining an alert based on FBI intelligence and provided by the agency's Kansas City division. The alert, which the FBI sent to the U.S. Marine Corps, local police departments and other law enforcement agencies, was titled "Planned Ft. Hood-inspired Jihad against US Soldiers by Army Recruit" and said Hassan had warned his "jihad was imminent."

"But although the reference was to the 2009 shooting on a Texas military base in which 13 people were killed and more than 30 injured, the FBI downplayed the threat on Tuesday and said it was not hunting for the man.

“We have interviewed this individual,” an FBI spokesman said. “There is not a manhunt and there never was one. There is no imminent threat to public safety, nor should the public be concerned that this threat exists from an individual at large."

The statement came after the FoxNews.com report, and four days after FBI officials declined to comment on the alert despite repeated inquiries.

But the alert issued to military and law enforcement agencies on Friday, which FoxNews.com confirmed, stated that the man had told friends of his "intention to commit jihad." The subject was recruited by the U.S. Army in Kansas City in February 2014 and was scheduled to report for basic training on April 7. But he was discharged last week, apparently after law enforcement authorities learned of his alleged plan."

It is all very sad indeed, but I am honestly surprised it doesn’t happen more often. Since working law enforcement on an Army base, I have noticed the rate of violent crime is just staggering, especially when compared to other branches. :(
