I went to their website's "Contact" page and sent them an email asking them, "...given the overwhelming support for NRA's policies, how will you respond to the poll results? What will you tell your members?" If I get a reply, I'll post it here.

They've added sub-polls - making it less vague about which policies people agree/disagree with.

I voted in all of them. Although there is only about 1000 votes in each so far, they were all over 90% in favor of guns. :p

I voted too, I still think it is a little too vague.
The background checks, I don't really have a problem with national background checks provided they aren't stupid about it. I like Idaho's version, 1-800 number & it's done within 5 min. Just a quick check to see if there is criminal record.
But I guarantee they'd get stupid about it so I say no.

I agree that there should be a minimally intrusive background check, but the proposed "Universal" background checks are a back door registration and limit or prevent face to face sales and transfers to family members. I don't like it.

For me, it goes back to stuff like this:
Image

I would be willing to ok the background checks & even psych evals for gun owners IF they are done across the board (without bias) for every group that has committed an illegal act; this includes PETA, anti-abortion, religious groups, civil rights groups, et al.
No punishing one group without punishing others equally - and it is a punishment.

Since there is no way that will happen for the other groups, then it shouldn't happen to gun owners.

PBS got on the wagon for gun polls:
What should Congress do about gun control?
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/need-to-know/po ... uns/16826/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Would you support more restrictions on guns in your state?
http://www.pbs.org/newshour/updates/pol ... law-state/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Both are currently over 90% against any additional laws.
