Yep, that video has been around for a long time. Even so, it is still an important cautionary tale.

Speaking of Australian gun control, we can see here just how effective it is: (vid at link)
http://screen.yahoo.com/customers-preve ... 14017.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
When a masked and armed would-be robber stormed into a McDonald's in Melbourne, Australia, he quickly made the customers move to the floor and began emptying the cash registers. However when he put his gun down to stuff his bag with money he ended up getting overpowered by two brave customers who saw their opportunity to prevent the crime and took swift action.
I guess the effectiveness is measured in the would be robber's inexperience at theft?

This would really make me feel safer knowing how guns are illegal in Chicago (sarcasm)

I am surprised that it took this long but I knew it would happen.

A Washington state man who illegally fired a shotgun blamed his action on a piece of advice doled out by Vice President Joe Biden earlier this year.
"I did what Joe Biden told me to do," Jeffrey Barton told Washington affiliate KOIN. "I went outside and fired my shotgun in the air."
This just proves how stupid biden's comments were, someone did as he said and got arrested. If I were on the jury, I would let Barton go just because biden said to do it. He was following the orders of the vice-president.

What I am curious about though is if Barton is just as dense as biden for blindly following the advice or did he do it to show how stupid biden's comments were, knowing they could land him in jail?

There isn't much to the story yet though, I am curious how this will pan out.

I'm with you, this should be an interesting story to follow, regardless of the outcome. If I were to guess though, he is using the "Biden advice" defense as an afterthought to prove a point.

I dunno, he (Biden) may have a point though - after all he is just one heartbeat away from the presidency. He must know what he's talking about. Oh wait...

I saw the story the other day on Daily Caller or some such site. The reader's comments were almost unanimous in condemning the guy and calling him an idiot. But I think the reader's missed the point and I agree with Greenberg: the guy did it with a sense of humor and to make a point. He should demand a trial and he should use Biden's lunatic advice as his primary defense to make the very good point that both the advice and Joe Biden have equal value.

Chicago now murder capital of U.S., FBI says
According to new crime statistics released this week by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Chicago had more homicides in 2012 than any other city in the country. There were 500 murders in Chicago last year, the FBI said, surpassing New York City, which had 419.
In 2011, there were 515 homicides in the Big Apple, compared with the 431 in Chicago.
Why can't people see something so obvious? The places with the highest murder rates also have major gun control - it's what SHOULD be a no brainer :wall:

:agree: Should be obvious, but you cannot show an anti gun liberal facts and them accept it. :wall: It goes against their very nature. Of course this is just my bias because I'm sure some liberal will come out and claim to love guns. :skep:

I was curious so I looked it up to see if anything had been done. They dropped the gun charges, however they are still trying to charge him with obstructing an officer.

Oh, and from the looks of it, he did fire the shotgun to scare off would be crooks but the biden defense strategy was a political statement. He showed up for court with a shirt that said "Joe Biden Owes Me."
If you have the guts & money to fight, go for it!
