Chrono in the rain?
Random question: Anybody know how I can get some chrono data in the rain? Just checked the weather, and the 10 day forecast has nothing but rain And before you tell me to get an indoor kit....there's no indoor ranges around here either :wall:

Re: Chrono in the rain?
Stupid question time.
Can you use a large umbrella or cover/tent type thing for just the chrono?

Uh, yeah. That's sorta what I was thinking.

Re: Chrono in the rain?
LOL....i guess I'd need a really really long extension chord too. :ponder:
Fly: most chronos (without the indoor lighting kit) require a clear view of the sky w/ diffuse light (via clouds or sky screens).
Any chance some transparant panels or plastic wrap would allow it to work in the rain?

Re: Chrono in the rain?
This is a ghetto solution, but my buddy and I were able to get consistent readings at night using a couple of pelican flashlights. I just didn't want to buy the "kit".
Re: Chrono in the rain?
I actually setup our tailgate tent, like in the picture Esteves posted, a couple weeks ago because I wanted to chrono some rounds and the weather was not cooperating. Unfortunately I could not get the chrono to read, all I got was errors. I think it may work if you used the lights like wolly suggested. Funny thing is every shot I took made the canopy expand a little and all the collected rain would fly off it.... funny to watch.

I think a clear plastic drop cloth found in the painting isle at the hardware store would work OK. If it doesn't, you can report back on the average velocity of rain drops.
"How the Hell did I get here?"

Good idea. Thats sounds portable enough.
