Nope, & at $.75 per bullet I don't see it happening any time soon. I tend to stick with over 165gr bullets anyway for that caliber.

Economics - I've been getting Montana Gold 180gr for around $.14 per bullet. That local supplier isn't ordering any more (%^&*ing smeghead) so I have to order straight from the company but it will still be a pretty decent deal.

For the 165gr+ part, its just general preference for that caliber. When I do the hiking in the woods thing where I may come across "aggressive wildlife" I prefer something with more mass to it. Since target reloads cost the same as SD reloads, I practice with my carry ammo for the 10mm - which, all total, is about $10.25 per 50rd. Store bought target ammo (IF you can find it) for the 10mm around here is ~$35 per 50rd.

After seeing them expand, I would have no problem using the 155s.

How are target reloads the same cost as sd reloads though? Gold dots, XTPs, golden sabres, and silvertips are all about x2 as much as fmj bllets.

Stupid question... if you buy only bonded bullets, do you NEVER have to worry about jacket seaparation regardless of muzzle velocity?

I wish someone reloaded 180gr Gold Dots into Starline Nickel Brass and made them push 1300fps from a 5" barel... One day I'll do my own loading and finally be happy. :wall:

I didn't say that was for every bullet but if you're paying 2x as much for Gold Dots, you're getting ripped off. I don't hunt werewolves so I don't need those fancy-shmancy silvertips :p :laugh: Check Midway's prices, at most there is a couple of bucks difference on most bullets between FMJ & HP. Hornady XTP HPs are actually cheaper than the FMJ on there.

The bullets I was buying were $34/250 bullets & it didn't matter if they were FMJ or HP. I'm paying almost x2 as much for gold dots because I am getting my fmj for less than you. Any midway is overpriced 99% of the time.

Do you have any links to Montana Gold hollow point ballistic testing? I have seen them on their website but I havent seen testing.

Just from what I've seen, Midway's pricing has been comparable on most things I can get locally & not just bullets. Guess you're a better shopper than I am. Thanks for the link, I need more bullets

I don't have any ballistic testing data but Jay might. IIRC he used to use 200gr Montana Golds in EA's bear loads once upon a time :ponder:
