Anyone have experience loading up 185 gr. .45 acp? Any tips?

6.1gr of Winchester 231 920fps will work perfectly and give you a great plinking round.

++ on the 231.
I use 5.0 gr HP-38 (same as win 231 different label) under a 230 gr plated and have been told it makes a very "soft" shooting round at about 775 fps.

I'm currently working on a similar load myself. I'm using some 185g Hornady XTP's, but I haven't had much of a chance to get a good load going. Seems every time I try to go to the range lately and chrono some its the cloudiest day imaginable and my chrono won't cooperate :-/.
