I finally have a somewhat acceptable setup and let me tell you this thing is a tack driver. I still think I may upgrade to another optic but I went with the trijicon accupoint green mil dot until I figured out. however this scope has been dead on and I shoot 600m all day long with no problem. But I figured Id show the progress. Let me know what you think.
Thats with the yhm 7.62 sound suppressor. I had the burris fast fire on the POF at a 1 O'clock but it is currently on the ruger 22/45 shown now. hogs and squirrels beware!

Depends on what you are using it for and your price range.

You want a 1-6x. 1-8x is fine, also.1shot1kill wrote:tactical competition shooting and hunting. like to stay around $1500
Look at Burris, Leupold, or Trijicon.
Get a simple BDC. You don't want it to clog up your glass. With just a regular reticle that has no BDC,hitting to 500 yds is relatively easy (EOTech). Do not think you need a complicated math system BDC, you don't. That is for bench shooters that cannot run around.
Donuts or red dots work great for your primary reticle. Make sure you know if you prefer FFP or SFP.
Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.
The shooter will always matter more than the gear ever will.
Stop relying on others to do the work for you.
Shoot more, worry less.

If you decide to go with Burris, check out their XTR line. Simple, easy to use reticles on pretty decent glass. A bit of work on your part (in particular ensuring your load matches the ballistic trajectory on which the reticle is based as closely as possible) and you won't be disappointed.
My *only* issue with my XTR has been that the illuminated reticle stays on if the rheostat is even a hair towards the "on" position, burning up the battery (no auto off after so many hours). But in terms of the scope itself and usability, I'd buy again in a heartbeat.

You might want to look at: NightForce 2.5-10x32mm NXS Compact Illuminated Reticle Zero Stop Riflescopes.

Buy one of trijicon's accupoint scopes. They are pretty sweet. Not bomb proof like their ACOG or a SpectreDR, but extremely clear and great for what you want it for.
Another option along the more tactical lines is the Leupold mk4 CQB.

I went with the trijicon 3-9x40 accupoint with green mil dot and a burris pepr QD mount and a burris Fast Fire dot on top think I definitely got the most bang for my buck. Pics to come but waitin on my can so I can have it fully dressed.
