The CZ 75B slide is a little stiffer than other guns I have to rack. Will then get better with use, or should I expect it to be this stiff all the time?
Thanks.

Re: CZ 75B Slide
Most springs loosen up over time, is it an after market spring? Brand new gun?

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.
Re: CZ 75B Slide
Brand new gun that I bought about a month ago, but the slide didn't get much use until today. I previously racked it a few times, but then today the gun was shot a fair amount. The 75B is completely stock.Rapier1772 wrote:Most springs loosen up over time, is it an after market spring? Brand new gun?

Stock spring is powerful. Remember this is a COMBAT handgun. It is used to shooting +P and +P+.
If you want to break it in, use +P+
Only way to break in a legit handgun.

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.
The shooter will always matter more than the gear ever will.

Yes, I was only using the wimpy 124 grain standard ammo. I guess when it is time to buy some more ammo I will have to give the gun what it wants and give it the +P ammo. It might be a while since I stocked up on 9mm when the stores had their specials a few months ago.blueorison wrote:Stock spring is powerful. Remember this is a COMBAT handgun. Might just buy a box of the +P stuff to try out to see if it is worth using that as my standard ammo on the gun. I bought a fair amount of +P for my .38 special snub gun which didn't turn out too well.
I can definitely say that there was almost no recoil with the 124 grain ammo. That could be because it is a combat gun designed for stronger loads or the fact that I had just shot 10 mm and was used to that gun.
Too bad CZ doesn't make a 10mm.

What do you mean they don't?
Also don't forget about the CZ clone Witness. They come in 10mm.

I didn't know that CZ made a 10mm. I know about EAA's Witness and Witness Match 10mm as we had a discussion before about these guns. You guys recommended the Witness Match over the standard Witness. Is the CZ 10mm as good as the 9mm line?panzermk2 wrote:57js wrote:

Yes the only problem is that it's not a CZ platform but a 1911. CZ bought out Dan Wesson about 4 years ago. Completely re-tooled the entire production line.

didn't they discontinue the standard 10mm? The only 10mm I saw on their website was in the Dan Wesson Elite series. $3850 for the Dan Wesson Titan, 14 shot 10mm 1911.
