Just went to the gun show not expecting to find anything and ended up picking one up for 500 cash. 20 minutes later I was at the range and put 100 rounds through it with only one FTE. It was the first shot and I limp-wristed it.
First impression was great and it's certainly on par with the five seven in terms of quality. Got a little more kick though. :P

Ha ha! You still have your sticker on :p Just messin with ya
Congrats, looks like fun. I've been considering a .40 lately simply because its the only plinking ammo I easily find How's the accuracy out of the box?

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

Re: just got a fnp40
Shaddap, at least it's not as obvious as the five seven's was
Accuracy was pretty nice. Still have to get used to the different feel of it, but it's very consistent through a couple different types of ammo (including reloads) so getting rounds for it should be a breeze even in the most dire of circumstances. At 10yds I was able to get a nice grouping (albeit low and to the right) and only got tighter as I cranked through more rounds.
I have a feeling i've found my carry pistol.

Re: just got a fnp40
Ok, any of you goofs know how to reverse the magazine release on this thing?
I know its possible but the process seems to be different from the five seven. I can see the spring down in the grip but it doesn't want to pull free and i'm not going to put excessive amounts of stress on it if I can help it (unless that's what it takes).

Congrats on your purchase! And welcome to the club.
As for swapping the the mag release on the FNPs, I have no idea.

Never confuse 'The will of the Majority' with 'The will of God'.

Re: just got a fnp40
So no one has attempted this? I've been searching for days online and can't even find a tech article on it.
I'm about to just call FN just to see what they'll say. :|

Re: just got a fnp40
Aren't they ambi mag releases to start with? Or am i on crack today.
Re: just got a fnp40
What does your manual say?
Re: just got a fnp40
Ooops, my bad. FNP45 is fully ambi. 40 is reversible.

Re: just got a fnp40
The manual says nothing about it, but every online review and even the '09 catalog I have from FN says it's reversible.
Perhaps it's something best left to a smith? :gavel:
