Wasn't sure if this was posted yet or not, but had a chance to speak to a few FNH reps today and got to talking about the difference between the two FN45's. I had to cut it short today (will see them again tomorrow and find out more), but it sounded like the big difference was the magazines will be able to fit 45acp with a longer OAL (basically WWB for anyone that had the issues of those not fitting).

Also got my hands on an FNS, Sig P938, and Ithaca's new 1911's. The Sig was decent, and they may finally have found something new from them worthwhile. I was actually really impressed with Ithaca's 1911's with the fit and finish, amazingly well done, and I can't wait to get a chance to shoot one and see if the quality is there the way it appears. The FNS I was a little disappointed in. I had heard the trigger was supposed to be decent, but it was quite heavy and gritty. For me, I'll stick with the FNX line up. I did get my hand on another S&W Shield. The two previous I've seen each had horrible triggers (short, but beyond heavy), this one though was actually just right. Wonder if it was because it was a dealer show gun, or if the initial production just wasn't the best, time will tell.

Double checked today, and the differences between the two are all internal, and it's the magazines, and they opened up the magwell for the new mags. I never had any issues with mine not fitting bulk ammo, but I guess enough people did.

There is also supposed to be this trigger pin issue I read about. The pin comes out and jams against the housing. Mine is new enough I haven't experienced the problem. I wonder of the FNX will address that too? The problems sounds hit or miss. Some folks experience the problem after a few hundred rounds, others not at all.

The pin was addressed with a larger diameter pin. Mine walks, and I haven't had an issue with it. need to get replacement pin
