Does anybody know how long a white horse can be stored for? I was going to keep it in a room with temperature and humidity control. I'm just thinking, when the machines attack and I become leader of the human resistance, I want to give motivational speeches on horseback.

I moved Herman to another temporary spot. I don't think there's a 'final resting place' for a zombie until the brain is destroyed.
As soon as I get a chance today though, I'll set him where he'll sit for the month of October and add the tombstones and other accessories.

Escape from the running dead

Protect your brain and run for your life. This is one race where your legs giving out are the least of your problems. Run For Your Lives is a first-of-its-kind event, one part 5K, one part obstacle course, one part escaping the clutches of zombies — and all parts awesome.

Runners will navigate a series of 12 obstacles throughout a 5K course in an attempt to reach the finish line — all while avoiding zombies. At the end of this adventure race, you get to celebrate survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and of course, beer!

Although mine doesn't look quite as new as the one pictured, it's no where as beat up as Jays.

I'm still pretty fond of my sugar cane knives too. The one mounted on a 'youth' axe handle has been very useful up here. :D

World Record Pumpkin Carving
This carving was created in NYC by utilizing a 1,693lb pumpkin for the
Zombies (Zombkins) that are crawling out of the new Worlds Record
pumpkin that weighed a whopping 1,818.5lbs. It took Ray Villafane about 15 hours to
carve.

A crowd of garden-goers watched in awe as Villafane deftly sliced and slivered pieces of the giant squash (yes, pumpkins are a type of winter squash).
After a few hours, the orange flesh was transformed into a terrifying
scene complete with an eerily realistic zombie and a ghastly ghoul
breaking out of the pumpkin’s shell. Villafane even used the stringy
innards of the pumpkin as “guts” draped in the hand of the zombie, who
he depicted reaching out towards the audience.

The pumpkin, which is currently the record holder for largest pumpkin in the world,
was “raised” by Jim and Kelsey Bryson in Ormstown, Quebec. The orange
behemoth is on display with its two slightly smaller brothers (grown in
California and Pennsylvania) at the NYBG
until October 30th, and all three will be carved into spooky sculptures

This is a homemade crawling R/C car zombie. The way it moves is just...terrifying. If I saw that thing crawling through a neighbor's lawn after dark there's no doubt in my mind I'd f***ing stomp it into pieces. Oooooooooooor run screaming.

That's awesome. Reminds me of one of the zombies from the first episode of Walking Dead.

Then again, if that bit (time 1:10) about currently being able to create a virus which can cause a living zombie is true - maybe its good to be prepared for the zombie apocalypse? Not sure I buy it though - I need more info about how that would work :?:

Forget the fence - bring back the pill boxes & machine gun nests. (Of course this time we put bullet resistant glass on them & AC units) But for National Guard units to put in their active duty time (2 weeks/yr?), it would be a service to the country.

I'm with you Fly. I don't think I'll ever buy into the idea of a zombie apocalypse, but I think the optic looks cool. I'm all about functionality and I really like my EOTech XPS2-2. If I was in the market for another one and if the performance was the same, hell, I'd go for it just to have something that was a little different than what everyone else has.

Funtion over form, but when the function is what I'm loking for, I don't mind having something cool as opposed to the same-old-same-old.

Besides... I already have a Cylon on my AR57... :D

It would be better if they told you what the hazard was instead of a general classification.
Vehicle accidents? Seriously? They are WAY behind on those.
And the epidemic hazard? One person does not make an epidemic.

After you click on the icon a bubble opens up. Click on the details tab. Once that new screen opens up click on the Description tab third form the left. It then gives you even more details. For accidents I think it's the number of people involved that determines if they put it up.

One person can signal the beginning of an epidemic, also these are real time reports. That one person may be one of many who have already died or part of a larger epidemic.

A/H5N1 any death caused by it is part of a larger on going epidemic.

I see. I was just reading the summaries before where it said 1 person infected or 1 person dead. So the epidemic thing is like stuff that would be reported to the CDC here (even if it was just 1 person)?

I still say they are way behind on car accidents though

Wyoming House advances doomsday bill

CHEYENNE — State representatives on Friday advanced legislation to launch a study into what Wyoming should do in the event of a complete economic or political collapse in the United States.

House Bill 85 passed on first reading by a voice vote. It would create a state-run government continuity task force, which would study and prepare Wyoming for potential catastrophes, from disruptions in food and energy supplies to a complete meltdown of the federal government.

Surviving the Coming Zombie Apocalypse: Michigan State University To Offer Zombie Fighting Class

The zombie apocalypse is coming, that’s a fact. And if you want to be prepared you should probably enroll in Michigan State University’s new course, “Surviving the Coming Zombie Apocalypse: Catastrophes & Human Behavior.”

The course, according to Time Magazine, focuses on how humans behave when faced with plagues or other catastrophic events. The course will cover the hypothetical questions concerning a zombie uprising, but will also look at how to deal with earthquakes, plagues, falling meteors and other doomsday scenarios.

I'd take it. One to bash zombie fanbois and two because human behavior is fascinating.
