Rarest & Coolest Firearms You Own (or have shot)
Glocktalk had a thread on this; sparked me to make this one.
I'm subbéd to LifesizePotato's youtube (UTLonghornpistol), and I'm pretty sure you have the most of the rarest, LSP!
Mine would have to be (borrowed pictures from the net as I'm not home) ...
(This is for Hobbes) Boberg XR-9L Onyx. I signed up with Arne in the beginning; I think around 2007 or 2008; I was part of the first group, but gave up my spot because I wanted to wait for the L instead of the S.
It is slightly rare.. because it is the very 1st XR9L Onyx ever made. It's still NIB.
I don't "collect" guns; what I don't shoot (besides the XR9, I'll probably get another one to shoot and keep the Onyx, new), I trade or sell. I cross train a lot, with different platforms. One cool gun that I have yet to shoot is a NIB IOM, one of the early ones to roll off the production line.
I believe the serial is in the low 2000's. All the paperwork is included, including a rarely seen extra piece. Don't think I'll shoot it, either. I have other FsNs to shoot, and have shot IOMs. They have a better trigger, IMO.
I also have a Gen 1 G17L that's ported. Not sure why I got it; perhaps because it's part of Glock history (not that I prefer Glocks).
Have shot P210's from their country of Origin; MP5-SDs, etc.
What about ya'll?

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.
The shooter will always matter more than the gear ever will.
Stop relying on others to do the work for you.
Shoot more, worry less.

Only 400 imported into the US. I guess you could say this is even more rare than the SSG (only 600), but there are AK's everywhere

I'd consider the AMT Automag series decently rare. At least the III in .30 Carbine

Fun gun to shoot. Came very close to having one follow me home after a factory hosted shoot.
Bet I could cook up some really fine 30 tailored to the pistol.

^ yeah all the factory stuff is a lot of flash, and about 300 fps loss over rated rifle velocity.

I had another Boberg that was going to be a safe queen.....but then I decided to sell it so I could have another gun that wasn't a safe queen.

Re: Rarest & Coolest Firearms You Own (or have shot)
In 2002 I bought a SIG-550-2 (1:7 twist barrel as opposed to the -1 that had the 1:12 twist) that was almost new. I spent the next two months locating mags and managed to collect an even dozen. After realizing just how much money I spent on the damned thing and how poorly balanced it was, I shot about 30 rounds off the bench when someone offered me $2000 more than I had invested (including the mags). I didn't hesitate and out the door it went.
One of the guys I worked with right out of high school introduced me to his father who was good friends/an old buddy with one of the honchos at HK Sterling. I guess friendship does have value as his father had one of the most impressive collection of NFA HK rifles I've ever seen, and during one visit to the range his friend was up and we had a spin on the G-41. It's a shame HK won't bring that one back.

Here's one that's both rare and stupid, nothing cool about it. I sold it.
Taurus IB-17, DAO, bobbed hammer, chambered in 17M2. 9 shooter. I've also got it's big brother in 17HMR, 8 shooter, not quite as stupid, but quite a bit louder.

Did you ever chrono the .17 M2?
Re: Rarest & Coolest Firearms You Own (or have shot)
I don't think I had a chrono at the time that I got rid of it, but I'm guessing with a barrel shorter than 2" and that tiny bore, velocity wasn't very high. It was still tough though, tore through an old dryer with no issues.

No pics but I once got to shoot a WWII German Luger. It had 1937 stamped on it. Stiff trigger but cool piece of history.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.
Re: Rarest & Coolest Firearms You Own (or have shot)
I've got a '40 Luger, takes at least two whacks on the toggle per magazine to keep it running. I just oiled the crap out of it and into the back of the safe it went.

M60, MK19, and M2. Really liked the M60. Kinda rare after the M249 came along.
Never actually shot it, but was quite intimate with the M230 too.

not necessarily rare, but took forever to find and get: Charter Arms 9mm Pitbull. No moon clips!
Maybe not rare, but certainly an odd duck: My AR-47

Most of my guns are strictly shooters but these two were mostly for the cool factor. DJ Getz 94k pdw clone and the good old .50 Beowulf. I think they are pretty cool :thumb:

LOL BEOWULF
Geez.
It's ok I have a .460 S&W, I can't be the pot calling the kettle black.
Freeze, I don't believe you own that AR. It's clearly not stainless steel, so it can't be yours. Don't try to pull that crap, here.
