Ballistic Helmet (Warrior Helmet by SDS) vs 5.7x28mm

Post by Buffman » 24 Jul 2014, 09:26

TFB did a test about a year ago that claimed they were using SS190. Their results didn't really mimic what SS190 should do. I finally found a surplus helmet and the time to do this test:

Results: SS190, and EA's T6 are badass... Enough said :)

Great video Buffman, although Ballistic Bob may not agree.

I'm a little surprised that the S4M didn't completely penetrate because it has always easily defeated all the IIIa panels that I tried. If you get a chance to try another S4M round my bet is it would go through.

I'm wondering if these helmets are rated at slightly higher than average IIIA soft panels because of their rigid nature.? I'll throw more ammo at it next time I go out :)

Excellent review, it has been my experience that ss190 will penetrate steel fenders and break a 6 cylinder pick up truck block. Thanks for your work showing what ss190 will do, FNH didn't just talk, they tested it, the "nay sayers" seem to be every where.

Excellent video. I'm surprised S4M didn't penetrate all the way either. Maybe bc the bullet is a little softer than ss190 and T6. Pretty cool how the T6 just destroyed the water jug.

Great work, Buffman! I liked your video and left a comment.

Great test! Somehow I just couldn't buy that other test where 190 didn't make it thru.
