unique gun suggestions
unique gun suggestions
Hey guys,
I just made a little dough selling some stock I forgot I had. I am looking to buy a unique weapon. Practicality be damned! I was looking at a ps90 but don't find that to be too unique (especially around here) so now I am looking at a .50 Beowulf or a ksg. Pistol, rifle or shotgun; it just has to catch my interest and be close in price to those mentioned above.
So, lets hear some suggestions! Thanks guys and gals!

KSG
RFB
Tavor
Then there's always NFA items such as a suppressor, SBR or SBS. There's the additional $200 tax stamp, oh and that pesky 8 month wait...

Money definitely is an issue.
Dang jgreenburg, I didn't know you were such a bullpup fiend! I thought about the rfb but I recently bought a ptr-91 perimeter rifle. The Tavor is tempting but a bit more than I wanted to spend. I'm still leaning toward Beowulf at this point.

Re: unique gun suggestions
Yes, I definitely got the bullpup bug as of late. If you want "unique", here are a couple of guns I considered. First a rifle, it's the Taurus Circuit Judge. Not very practical, but kinda cool. A video I found:nrv216 wrote:Money definitely is an issue.

Now here's a pistol that is definitely on my to-own list, the Uberti Schofield as presented by Mr. Hickok45:

My list would be Grendel, Beowulf, KSG

I actually looked at the Grendel. Very cool cartridge but I feel like it only offers a little advantage over the .308 rifle I have.Rapier1772 wrote:My list would be Grendel, Beowulf, KSG

I would go ksg over Utas personally. Vector is interesting for sure but I am soured on the whole smg clone thing because of my inability to find/afford a decent mp5 clone.Hobknob wrote:UTS-15

Seen it before but haven't seen anything about the range of that thing, I wouldn't think it would be that far though :skep: Anyone know?

Re: unique gun suggestions
Thinking of getting a thumper...
I already have a Grendel, seems only fitting that I get a Beowulf The thing is, I can't really 'justify' it other than I just want it. It's good for hogs ( which we don't really have in ID), and I don't want to destroy the exiting side for any kill I plan to keep (my '06 can already do a bang up job of that). The 'wulf's also good for engine blocks but I don't have a need to kill those either (unfortunately).
Considered the .458 SOCOM - I like that you can use standard AR mags & the ballistics on it are better but with bullets this big and ranges within 200 yards, the differences aren't that substantial.
Ammo cost & availability is a factor.
All I need is one good reason....

460SVR
Instead of a rifle, get a handgun. DUH.
It's a 500 S&W but it fires the round much faster.
I do want to get a rifle that hits harder than 5.56; maaaaaaaybe it has to do with the fact I just watched the first Tremor's movie, again, just a few minutes ago.
But I already have an AR-AK... I would probably get a 6.5 Creedmoor or .. I don't know. When you get to higher, more powerful calibers, you have to deal with a lot more PITA. Like, barrels only lasting so many rounds, rounds are heavy, rifle is heavy, lots of powder, etc. etc. I do want to get something that hits harder... something in between a 6.5 Creedmoor but definitely not as powerful as the .338 Lapua... I'd be ok with the .338 Lapua but I'd prefer something that didn't have a lot of caveats.

Re: unique gun suggestions
Funny you mention Tremors, I recently bought the "action pack" with all 6 movies; was 1st time I'd seen 5&6 I like the new graboids but not the new AB's :/
Back to reality - I have thought about the .460, there's just something about a .454 Casull being your 'mid range' round that brings a smile to my face However, unless there's a specific reason for it or another, I think my next handgun will be a Rhino.
I was also thinking of getting a long range gun but since my current skill level isn't pushing the limits of what I already have as yet, it's not a priority.
So, kinda want a big boomer & I like having multiple options for the same platform (AR-15).

You can shoot many rounds through the .460.. including ones that might surprise you
OO I would always want a Rhino/Mateba.

Re: unique gun suggestions
Turns out, I didn't come up with a good reason but that didn't stop me. All 3 use the same lower - for now.
5.56, 6.5 Grendel, .50 Beowulf
And the ammo (5.7x28 for scale):

How about a .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer? It was an attempt to push a 50gr bullet faster than 5000fps but it only went ~4600fps.
