Where do you buy the majority of your firearms?

Post by nrv216 » 27 Jul 2012, 19:16

Gentlemen,

Just interested in the way the members here buy most of their weapons. I, for one, end up buying most of my guns from budsgunshop.com. I always check the forum sponsors first but they tend not to have the particular guns I am looking for. I have also made several purchases off of gunbroker.com and a few from the local range/ shop.

Uhhhh

too poor to buy firearms.

Still shooting a gun that someone lent to me.

I bought my FsN from somewhere else, but I would recommend our sponsors. They are great guys.

I have bought a pistol from budsgunshop before. I always try to support my local friends, our sponsors, then go to local gunstores as a last resort.

Charles @ A&A, highly recommend!

I've gotten a pistol and rifle from Tanner's, always a pleasure doing business with them. (See banner)

I've purchased some from Ray Jr. I've traded and purchased some from other vendors here on the site. I've bought some locally, but it seems that the grand majority of firearms I've ended up with over the years have been from local friends who are short a few bucks and treat me like a pawn shop.
They always intend to be back for the weapon in a few days to a couple of weeks, but somehow, they either forget they I have it or they never get enough cash to get it out of pawn.
Either way, they always know that Fly is the Guy to go to for some quick cash as long as you have a gun to secure the loan.
Never confuse 'The will of the Majority' with 'The will of God'.

I mostly do FTF now. Found an amazing local board that's just as active (and varied), if not more, than gunbroker and have made some great new friends.

I usually check my local fun shop and the forum sponsors here first to see what their prices are. Sometimes they just can't be beat.

I voted local shop since I work at a gun shop and buy guns at cost or through VIP/Pro forms from manufacturers if they have them.

A friend of mine bought a PX4 from Tanners about a year ago (if I remember right). Only about two hours drive from us, and great to deal with there. This was before where I'm working now.

A guy named Lenny out of the back of his van in a dark parking lot.

Not really, I try to buy local but the last few things have been mail order just to beat the tax. Local dealer does $10 transfers for first responders.

I voted for local shop, but the local shop I frequent the most is Bud's. 5 of my last 6 I got at Bud's.

More than not, mine have come from a local gun shop. He and his staff come to me and I give them a deal and he gives me a deal. Second place is gun shows where I see something that strikes my fancy and I can't resist (and have the money).

Out here in Utah, we have a fantastic site called http://www.ksl.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, its a news site but it has a massive classifieds section. There are private sellers and business that list here, always has the best prices. I have met several local FFLs through there.
