Sizing Shoulder Issues

Hi all, I’m new to reloading the 5.7x28 round. I’ve been reloading a few other calibers for a few years. I got the Lee reloading dies kit, but when I try resizing the cases, the shoulder doesn’t go all the way down to where it is on factory ammo. The shoulder is about .01 inch above the factory ammo shoulder. Is it safe to reload the cases like this?

Thank you in advance for all your feedback.

Got pictures? Do you have EA's case gage? I believe that's normal from another picture I've seen of people using 1x brass.

Yes, I got pictures but I don’t know how to post them here. I’m using my cell phone. Can it be done from a cell phone?
I just ordered the EA cage gauge yesterday.

Thank you.

Instructions on how to post pics: https://www.fivesevenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6363
Cell phones have to go through the same steps, it's just easier on a computer.

Here is picture of a factory round and a resized shell. Hopefully you guys can see it. I also noticed that the factory round has an angled shoulder and the shoulder on the resized shell is sort of round.

Thank you. I will try a few rounds like that to see how they work. Hopefully I’ll get the EA gauge soon.

Crap I meant NOT it does NOT look right. The shoulder does not look like it has been set back far enough.

Shoulder angle notwithstanding the set back looks wrong.

Does this mean that the resizing die is not working as it supposed to? Should I get a different die? If so, any recommendations?
Thank you.

It could be that the die is not adjusted all the way down, but it might be the die. There is a thread in this section about the Lee dies. I used to recommend them but a few years back they changed thier sizing die specs and have had issues ever since.

Hi Jay, that was one of the first videos a watched. I just watched it again right now. It contains a lot of good info. I was reading on at other tread that a way was having the same issue and he fixed it by reducing the size of the die just a little. I don’t think I want to try this. I’d rather return it and by a new die set. Are you guys still making the CH4D die set? I need one of those.

It looks like that case is a little longer than the others which may be crushing the shoulder down & deforming it a little, but the case end looks fine so I don't think that's it. Probably bad dies.

That is the default since it takes so long to get them. That said we have as of right now one set in stock on the shelf. FYI it can take 6 months or more to get them from CH4D.
