Coloring Brass so you can find it at the range

What's a good way to color 5.7 brass so you can find it easily at the range? Digging through brass at the range is a real pain.

Thinned out lacquer paint it sticks the coating on the casing very well.

Does it have any adverse affect on the cartridge function? How does it hold up to firing?

It just stains the coating. It lasts as long as the neck will.

Too bad the Five-Seven doesn't have a brass catcher like the PS90. I can't tell you how awesome it is to not have to pick up my brass.

There's been a few ideas on that subject here, just do a search for "brass catcher" & check it out. A lot of it is for the PS90 & AR57 but there are FsN threads too.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

They are a PIA, ether the case burns/shoot through the fabric or the damn cases bounce back into the action, a LOT. We stopped using them and just have a chute system to catch and funnel brass into a trap.
