Just bought 10 boxs of SS197SR for $23.5/box, and 10 boxs of SS198LF for $26.10/box. The 198 price really caught my eye, as it had a Buy it Now price of $350 on gunbroker, but was listed in a no reserve auction! A previous 10 boxs of 198 from the same seller went for $266.00.

I don't mean to hi-jack this ammo thread, but one thing that I learned recently is that you have to be really careful when buying on Armslist. I was dealing with 3 different 5.7 Mk II sellers on Armslist over the past 4 weeks, and ALL 3 were scammers. I discovered um all, and had an ongoing conversation going with the Armslist website people with all 3. :thumb:

I didn't know the best place to post this, but I wanted to share...

PSA's daily deal today (10/20) includes American Eagle 5.7x28mm 40 gr TMJ 50 rnd boxes for $19.99. Shipping for 10 boxes was $12: $212 shipped for 500rnds is the best I've seen in a long time.

Plenty of 198 on gunbroker but personally, I'd rather have the 195 for pull down & reloading or the 197 for plinking.

I really like midwest, and I really like ss195 for competition shooting.

But .50 a round :(

I recently bought AE TMJ rounds from palmetto state armory. I was not happy that it took two and a half weeks to deliver, which I didnt understand because they were in stock, but since they were a pretty good price 17.99 per box I just loaded up and waited patiently.
Good price/terrible process.

Until recently, the last time I bought ammo for the 5.7 was when only FN brand ammo was available. Had been living off FN brand ammo and reloads for years, because 5.7 ammo had always been sold out or was for sale for $35+ a box by some arse selling it at a high price because "it was going to get banned soon".

My thoughts on them so far. Fast and prompt shipping. Packaging looked good on the outside, but no inner packing other than a cardboard topper. Don't get me wrong. The ammo was packed tightly, but if the package was dropped or took a hit, I would have loose ammo all over. One box was slightly damaged, as the outer box took a small ding. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the company.

$42.55 for shipping for 1k rounds. Others on different forums have posted much less shipping as well and in Missouri. I have emailed the company to see if there was an error in my order. I went and put the same order in today and the total price was $46.00 less. Ammo was the same price.

Just received 500rds of SS198LF from Ammo Supply Warehouse with great service and packaging. $31.00/50rds
They had a note within the package that said they are trying to reach forums by offering incentives of somekind. Now with that said I don't want be in the wrong by posting this or make it sound like I work for them and also not trying to step on Elites' toes. I'm just showing my interest in seeing what could become of this if the forum was offered something.

Sir,
I apologize for the inconvenience. It does appear there was a problem with the calculation for the quantity price and we will be issuing you a refund.

Thank you.

Good deal and that is stand up of them.
I received notification that mine has shipped.
I believe the $730 plus $25 shipping is the cheapest I have ever bought.

WITH shipping the $755 for 2000 rounds works out to $18.87 per 50 round box.
I'm pretty content right now considering local prices.

I've bought tons of stuff off Palmetto State Armory. They are a great company to deal with. Got my custom Kyle Lamb VTAC MP-15 from them ( the first one ( & better IMOHO ), with the JP Enterprises single stage match trigger & speed hammer. - http://www.outdoorhub.com/reviews/2014/ ... ear-later/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - I'm looking into getting that Century C39 Micro - after I see what Buffman thinks. This whole thing about the BATFS taking our M855 is wrong ( or not letting us get it or produce it is ludicrous ) - The Sig Brace just got its clearance letter from the BATFE , so I can have basically a SBR AK with a custom violin case off gunbroker that holds the C39 ( or any of your rifles, or rifle - pistols ) plus a lot of magazines. Not trying to hijack the thread, I'll repost. What does anyone ( who has shot the Century C39 MICRO think compared to the Draco or any other AK pistol that has a MILLED receiver. Please don't respond if you're going to compare it to anything stamped. I'm scooping up ammo off Gunbot for 41 cents for M855 a case, & already ordered 10 boxes of SS197 for $18.99 as well. Make sure and use a promo code for free shipping or a 10% discount on orders over certain amounts. They are a HUGE distributor & can come down more on their prices. Their upper & lower packages are really well priced, and they assemble it prior to shipping unless you ask them not to, and they do everything correctly. My buddy just got the PSA CHF complete rifle build Kit for $499 and it comes with a 26" 7075 FN T6 A3 ( machine gun steel as FN calls it and uses it in the M240 & M249 weapon systems. Comes in the 1 in 7" twist for up to 77 grain rounds ( same as the VTAC ), it's got a single stage trigger , everything else is obviously mil spec, but for the price, you can't go wrong. And yes of course my VTAC is a completely different animal than the PSA, but I'm just making a point that Palmetto State Armory is great for pretty much everything.

Right...they included the same note and information in my shipment of the SS198. They just want people to be aware that they have fairly good deals on the 5.7 ammo. Have not been offered any of the "incentives as of yet" though. Maybe on another order I will mention their "promotion" and see what they are offering. :ponder:

On your next orders, include a note which directs them to this forum. Maybe they'd like to be a sponsor?

I emailed a response to them about this topic and they said they dont nessessarily have an incentive program. They did mention maybe emailing a code with a 10% discount. I had the email saved but my phone deletes read emails after a couple weeks. Like Rapier said try directing them here. I did mention this site in my email.

I recently purchased some 5.7x28 ammo which supposedly is made with IMI 52gr. Match BT-HP and IMI 52gr. Nickel Match BT-HP projectiles with new FN brass.

Anyone ever here about IMI making 5.7x28 projectiles? I buy a lot of their 5.56 ammo and really like it.

I have not yet been to the range with it.

IMI does not produce 5.7x28 mm ammo. They only make 5.56.. What you bought was rounds put together by someone from pulled bullets or from a company that did it called duece45..

Yup....from duece45. I will have to ask them whats up with the "IMI" claim. They have excellent feedback on Gunbroker.

Is there anything particularly wrong with their ammo? I didn't buy much...50 rounds.

I have been looking for their rounds for my display but I didn't want to pay the prices on Gunbroker. I sent them an email many times and they never responded to any of my inquires as to when they would have any in stock. Also for the last few months their web site has been no longer up and running. Maybe Buffman or someone else will chime in as to if they have fired them.

Yes...fairly pricey on Gunbroker but I was curious about the ammo and how the 52gr. round would perform.

I also liked the shiny nickel jacketed bullets. At least I think they are jacketed...doubt they would be machined from solid nickel.

Just electro plated.

Looks cool, no performance gains.

Our T6B and S4m look cool but the coatings are there to do something not just for show.

FYI

They changed the 40 bullet in the AE.

The new bullet is much better and of better construction.

Instead of plated bullet it has a true jacket, harder then the plated older version, and a swaged lead core.

I am molly coating a bunch and going to play around with them.

The more I messed with them the more the "jacket" was a less a true jacket. The finish, the way it has black particles in it had me looking at it more.

Just my opinion, the jacket seemed jinky to me.

Didn't I don't really collect data like that on FNH ammo anymore.

Going to be interesting to see how the new one performs. For a 40gr bullet it has the bearing surface of a 30gr V-max. Combined with the molly I should be able to make these tings really move.

I may bring them out as the new PenetraTOR depending on how they perform.

This is good info, thanks.

I bought AE to use, in general, but I really don't like it vs the 197. My favorite general-use factory round is still the 195.

For accuracy, but mainly for the impulse/recoil/how the gun reacts. I have a lot more felt recoil w/ the AE for less velocity.

Molly coated and some juice behind them they perform much better then the old 40gr bullets. They would make a nice replacement for the PenetraTOR.

1/8 inch cold rolled steel plate.

So the plated bullets are slightly smaller causing the setbacks we have been seeing I am assuming. Now that they are FMJing this will be avoided? Can only hope and might redeem their product.

It warms my heart to be able to pick up ss197 so cheap from Palmetto State. Their "deal" price has been there for months. With shipping, I can drop $171 and have 10 boxes arrive at my door a few days later. I can't even pick up 10 boxes of new 45ACP that cheap locally. Just place another order today. Did I mention that I really love my gun?

Well, nevermind. The last order of 10 boxes arrived. I was in such a good mood I went online to order another 10; and the price went up to $21.99 a box. Dang it, all I had to do was say something and ruin a good thing. I better go shoot this stuff.
