Looks like a few of us got orders in. Will update if order ships or is canceled. I've never ordered with them before and was in a mad dash to make an account before it sold out .

Yep. My CC is hurting, but I will have a good supply of ammo for a bit. Now, I need to pay off my CC and start looking for a FNX 45 Tactical :thumb:

Good you were able to find some at a reasonable price. There's a place about 70 miles from me that has them for the same price 195/197 with a 4 box a day limit. Not worth the drive to go there daily. Will have to drive out that way again and see if they have a tactical for sale or see what they have for wheel guns when I'm in the area. I was only there for a few minutes when I picked up my 5.7. If I stayed there any longer I would have been broke.

Same. I have not had a chance to try the AE stuff yet, so I bought my 5 boxes. I then found the 500 round bundles from Luckygunner and bought 1 bundle to add to my stash. It's funny I have not even bought any ammo for my 40, as I only have 150 rounds, but yet I'm stocking up on 5.7 ammo. Guess you can tell what my favorite gun is. :D

I've only put a 100 rounds through it since I got it over a month ago and after all my ammo gets here, I'll have about 2300 rounds. Time to go shooting again. May have to sell my M&P 40 once I get my tactical, as the 40 wouldn't serve any purpose after that.

Yeah for $450.00 they darn well should be. I just got my two b/o's from Cabela's. Total of 750 rounds for $299.85. Shipping was FREE (ordered in mid-December during one of their specials).

Thanks for the heads-up. Luckygunner won't be getting any of my $$.

I know the price was high, but I wanted to go shooting, as well as try out the AE ammo. Killing 2 birds with one stone. I probably won't order from them again. I now have enough ammo to last me until panic prices go down.

If anyone in the Seattle, WA area really needs ammo and can't wait for the madness to die down, there were two dealers at the gunshow with SS197 and SS192. Both had about two cases worth. However, price was $80 a box.

Buy the 192, it is high, but at least it will last. I have a sealed case of the stuff that a guy offered what came out to $100 a box last weekend for the entire case, so $80 isn't the highest. I said no though. I am keeping my 192.

If you want to get long on a lot of ammo, 192 is the grade to do it though.

Still think the prices are crazy. 192 might not drop though, as it has been discontinued.

UPS guy just pulled up. Ran out to his truck so he didn't have to deal with the snow. Packing was meh and could have been a lot better, but I got my Natchez order. A lot faster than the 2-3 week turn around time on their website.  :thumb: And yes I rounded up to the NRA youth program.

I just heard from Midway USA on some 5.7 Lee dies, and a local dealer called to tell me the RCBS dies for the 5.7 were in. Maybe things are starting to loosen up a little. Still no shell holder or powder, though. Good thing this ammo shipped!

Waiting on the next batch to come off the machine. We had them in stock for about 5 minutes last week.

Just went to the Atlanta gun show. Very little 5.7 anywhere, but did find a few vendors with it. One guy had a brick of 500 rounds that he was selling for $680 (he refused to break the brick). Another vendor was selling boxes for $75 (FN). I bought a few boxes from a guy (FN 197SR) for $55 each.

BTW, I've been lurking on the group for some time, as I ordered my FN 5.7 from a LGS (Adventure Outdoors) on Jan. 31. Still waiting to get it, but at least I found some ammo to have in hand when (fingers crossed) it is available.

And sadly, it's selling. Was 280 boxes and down to 215.

All this ammo showing up in stock at various places gives me hope. I have 12 boxes on backorder through Brownell's. I just might get it after all.

Today I bought 5.7x28 @ Sportsmans Warehouse. MAX 3 boxes each.
They also had in stock .223, .40, .45 etc in small qtys.
25$ a box for the AE 5.7x28.
I was told they are getting in another shipment Tuesday so I will be there to buy my 3 box max each with a few others.
Also they said they would have bulk 9mm @ 220$ per 1000.
Just a heads up as they said a lot of SW US wide would be getting small amnts of ammo in.

I was told they would start to have regular shipments every Tuesday but they said they don't have a clue as to what they would be getting. I do know they have plenty of 5.7 and I bought 15 boxes of .308 :)
I hope it is dying down but at the same time people are still paying GB prices.
I can't wait to hit the range!

FN Blue Box ammo Today

Post by Jim300 » 22 Mar 2013, 13:22

LGS had about 10 boxes of the FN Blue Box ammo they put out, they had put it out about an hour before I got there. Priced at $55 per box, I decided to wait until the price drops to close to normal.

Holy %@#$%!! I've been watching Midway's 'expected in stock" dates for both the AE and the SS197SR ammo for the last couple months. Originally they were both supposed to be in stock by now, but the dates have steadily been getting pushed off farther and farther. The expected date for the 2000 round lots of the SS197SR (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/219642 ... nady-v-max" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), which had been pushed to November this year, has now jumped to 05/29/2014. :wall: :wall: :wall:

Originally they were both displaying the same expected date. I'm just guessing, but they probably got word they won't be getting as much as they ordered, so they're only going to be selling the 50 rnd boxes with the limit of 10 when it does come in.

First post...I just recently panicked and bought my first FsN (Colorado resident) and ammunition and spare clips from GunBroker.com for WAY more than I had any business paying. And now I find myself in the same boat as the rest, wondering if I will ever find any ammunition available for less than $1 per cartridge. My local gun shop has some but won't let it go unless you take one of the two FsN he has for sale. He did give me a little hope and told me to email him once every couple weeks to see if he has received any more for sale. I'm coming into this too late and am unable to find dies or shellholders to even reload the 300 rounds I did pick up.

Sorry for taking off like that...I just needed to let out a little steam.

Well, I can help you with part of that if you act quickly. Ammodepot.com still has the Lee die set in stock (http://catalog.ammodepot.com/itemdetail ... mber=90603" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) which is supposed to have their shellholder with it (my set is still on the way so I can't verify that). I went through Lee's list of distributors on their website (http://leeprecision.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) to find those. If not, the Lee shellholder is still available at MidwayUSA (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/909704 ... 57x28mm-fn" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

Sorry to be the one to ring this bell, but the FsN doesn't use clips, it uses magazines. If you want to be taken seriously in firearms circles you should learn the difference, and not mix up the terminology.

AE available today at LGS (Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna just outside of Atlanta) for about $28 per box. I made the trip out there, only to learn one box per customer, per day. Better than nothing.

Something we used to do when a store put restrictions like that in place - whole family would go through, one at a time, each buying the limit.
Of course, it was never ammo & we never had to worry about age restrictions

Long drive for a single box. I'll be glad to see an end to the shortages and high prices.
