An enormously long combination to silence my Five seveN

Post by zpat » 11 Jan 2012, 01:17

Anyone ever done a Jarvis or EFK threaded barrel with 10x1mm to 1/2 x28 adapter with a AAC 51T Flash Hider with AAC M4-2000 Can? I already own an M4-2000 so I'd prefer to use it on my 5.7 vs getting a new can but I'm worried about the weight/cycling. Has anyone ever tried and want to share the results of this?

Good thing the pistol has a 1913 accessory rail on it so you can mount a bipod to help hold that set up stable! Seriously, I really dont have experience with this set up. I did look up the weight of the AAC and it is IMO pretty heavy for a pistol at 18oz. I use a SWR spectre that weighs 6-7oz and it functions fine but does feel a little nose heavy because the gun is so light. I guess all you can do is just try it.

I have a spectre, SWR just put out the spectre 2, they are going to have an upgrade program. New baffles that keep the tube cleaner, and lighter, what's not to like

No, I don't think it will cycle, hence why I am asking if someone has already tried it. If someone has, and it failed, I won't bother. If nobody has, I'll try it for [profanity] and giggles cuz it sure would be great if by some miracle it did work. Plus it will make me feel like I'm shooting my 1911 with a small dog hanging off the barrel.

I shot an FnS several days ago that was equipped with a can. Pretty nose heavy, and it cycled about 80% of the time. I think it was a Spectre. With 195 it would be fine to shoot in the open without ear protection, not so much in a closed room. No muzzle flash that I could detect.

Wow, did it get hot with 10 rounds through it.

A little water or wire pulling gel will also quiet it down even more.
