The front attachment of the "sling reducer"(looks like a cigar cutter) to the front
of the sling is a simple nylon strap and buckle, but you will have to fuss with threading the strap in and back through the "cigar cutter" because of the narrow
slots and the heat sealed end of the strap....I used a paperclip to help shove it through. see picture below for orientation "hardware/buckles up" of the sling.
The barrel attachment("cigar cutter") is attached to the barrel by pushing the metal springloaded tab (on bottom ) to retract the locking lug....slide over the Flash hider and down to the base of the exposed barrel, let go of the tab, and it will lock into the ring milled on the barrel cover for this purpose.
ON THE REAR ATTACHMENT:
I didnt think the rear stock attachment was going to fit at first(appreared the strap was too short) This is the part that is causing NASTY phone calls to FNH USA and CMMG as it didnt come with instructions ...but I figured it out....it IS built correctly...no the velcro isnt backwards, and it stretches(out) fits tight and fits perfect.
this is a great sling!
the secret to installing the rear sling attachment ..is the left thumb!
1 open velcro strap on rear attachment(stock harness)
2 center and straddle the stock with the main stock harness, strap dangling on the right side of stock.
3 run strap through slot in stock, from right to left.
4 run the end of the strap up through the large left buckle( then say WTH! this too short!)
5. pull strap very tight...grasping stock with fingers of left hand, place left thumb
on buckle where the strap is threaded through to act as a break to hold it tight
(belay it)
6 with right hand wrap the loose end of the strap under the stock towards the right, and up through the SMALL buckle on the right side.....pull tight and back under the stock to lock on the velcro....should get about a quarter inch stick on the first try
7. let it set a few minutes and repeat steps 5 & 6 .It will have now stretched to a perfect fit..with both large buckles top edge at, or below the contour line on both sides of the stock.....your done with that .
