FsN with compact Veridian C5L laser/light
Easy install, adjust, and tight fit. Wife's cat went completely ballistic chasing green gremlins on the wall - if blinded I am toast. :ponder:
Note: The presentation of the color of the receiver is not accurate due to the difficulty that my Nikon D40X SLR d-cam sometimes has in coming to terms with reality.

More compact than the X5L though (which is a combo light/laser)

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

This one is the C5L though, light/laser combo. No mention of strobe on the site.Rapier1772 wrote:Strictly a laserPainKillaX wrote:Does it have strobe?

...have no clue where you guys got those ideas but I guarantee that the C5L lases, illuminates, and strobes, and it strobes well - as is stated clearly in the spec list in the middle of the C5L product page at the Veridian websight: "ACTIVATION AND MODES: Ambidextrous with SMARTLASER Technology, constant beam and multiple pulsing modes."PainKillaX wrote:This one is the C5L though, light/laser combo. And, it does more in deep programming mode as you will note on THIS PAGE from the C5L manual.

Re: FsN with compact Veridian C5L laser/light
I'll do a closer comparison on the colors tomorrow when I return to my office but my Nikon D40X digital SLR sometimes seems to have mind of it's own and will occasionally embellish colors and focus somewhere in Jupiter orbit. I blew through a number of exposures to get a representative set posted, some of which imaged the frame as being a bit lighter. I chose those because they showed better detail on the laser/light even if the color match on the FsN was off. Will advise tomorrow.satellitedr3ams wrote:that receiver looks very brown (compared to the ones i have had) i like it. nice setup.

The real time eyeball color is nearly identical to that which displays on the official Five-seveN® FDE Handgun page. Sorry about the thrill guys...

Good to know! I'm picking up a FDE this Thursday and was a little concerned after seeing this picture. Nice set up though.critterdoc wrote:...yeah, crossed with a Halloween Pumpkin.ynoty3k wrote:shit looks like burnt orange firebird...

Re: FsN with compact Veridian C5L laser/light - lighting it
It's 0600 commercial city dark. Lots of streetlights and ambient light produced by business signs and strip shopping centers which allow me to clearly identify structure blocks away. This little sucker reaches out!critterdoc wrote:Easy install, adjust, and tight fit.
~ directly across the street from my porch is a large parking lot with a dark fence wooden at approximately 100 yards along side a white building wall. The C5L lased the bejeebies out of both structures with remarkably little loss of perceived brightness within the smaller illumination spot as compared to brightness on close in structures.
~ moving out in distance it easily illuminated an array of structures at ranges that were well beyond 200 yards.
~ Yesterday afternoon ~ at approximately 1600 I was able to easily illuminate a dark wood fence aiming to the east up to approximately 20 feet and further onto a section of galvanized metal fence with the sun to my back and much further when aiming back toward the west illuminating the shaded side of my brick building.
This being my first green laser experience, I'm not quite sure what to expect but so far so good, I think.

Re: FsN with compact Veridian C5L laser/light
I would not worry about color variability if I were you. Mine looks quite neutrally nondescript when it's in my hand. The Nikon D40X has never been very good at color reproduction and ability to lock in focus and I've often thought about deep sixing it - but then I'd be damaging much more critical functions like the gun budget.Virginian wrote:Good to know!
