New rifles/pistols in 5.7

Post by KiloTrooper » 15 Jun 2010, 12:40

Anyone hear any rumblings of other companies development of their autos in 5.7? Just curious, I like to stay up on the latest....

ATI is supposed to have an AR upper coming out some time.
Kel-Tec might have been thinking about it, but probably won't unless there's more demand. http://kel-tec-cnc.com/survey/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
STK could do it easily if they were so inclined http://www.stengg.com/upload/1042HiNo89LUSmLXjcjW.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative,
and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want
people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

GONRA sez any "new pistol" should be LOCKED BREECH,
probably SHORT RECOIL or forgetit.

Should be able to reliably fire ammo with
SMALL RIFLE MILITARY / MAGNUM primers.

This way Rabid Gun Crazies can REALLY loadup
"+ P + Red Blooded American Handloader "
handloads with SMALL RIFLE MILTARY primers and not blow their heads off.

Fired cases from such a handgun will NOT have the shoulder
"blown out " as with the "retarded blowback" pistol we are limited to now.

Someone can make LOTTSA $$$ with such a pistol!!!

As stated before, I propose the Stange "rotating sleeve"
breeching locking systam as being IDEAL for the 5.7x28FN
LOCKED BREECH pistol.

(Stange apparently ended up "selling shoes" in East Germany after WWII.
Stange COULD be our "+ P + Redblooded American 5.7x28 FN Handloader" hero"? ???)

Does that STK weapon exist? Is it a concept, or not released in the US? It looks like a nifty platform, but mostly I just want something else to get more people on board with the round...

The Solothurn is interesting...

...but I think a miniaturized chain gun action would be Hawt!

I think the STK is still in development. Lots of innovation there. Fewer products that make it to market, though.

I plan on building a bolt action 5.7 when I get the parts and money. But I am not sure if I will build for the public.

I would think that It would be pretty easy to have someone make a 5.7 barrel for the thompson center..

T/C Custom Shop will make you a contender in 5.7x28... I have one (although I kinda think the chamber is out of spec because factory ammunition gets almost the same speed as it would in a PS90). So will Match Grade Machine and a handful of others... The problem with the T/C custom shop is that they will only do a 1in12" twist rate (perhaps twist rate can affect velocity/pressure?).

very funny GONRA... Saw Panzermike had a run-n-gun on some black rifle forum about ATI vs. PAW, anyone know about the ATI receiver?
