I paid $1139 for the same model in early December, had passed on a lightly used one at a gun show in October for $999. Didn't feel too bad about the price I paid at the time, now I'm feeling pretty lucky indeed!

Like any market, supply and demand factors work on price. If you are patient and know what you want, you can find them at "market" prices. If you are desperate and have to have one right now, there is a patient seller out there waiting to charge you whatever you will pay. I have purchased 3 FsN's. One IOM and two USG's for under $900 each. Over the years I have bought at least 10 cases of ss197. I buy them whenever I can find them for $700. I admit, that was easier before it all got crazy, but there is a guy on GB that puts up cases for $700 pretty often, and I have bought one in the last 3 months. So I have guns that are fun and accurate to shoot, cheaper than most of my 1911's, and many thousands of $.35 rounds downrange. My favorite platform.

$1500 is pretty high.

Then again I paid $200 more wayyyyy back when for my OD FsN because the term tactical black annoyed me.

Prices are definately on the downswing. I paid $1120 3 months ago, and a friend just got one for $1050.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

I have not seen a lot of them at any local gun stores, definitely not at any Gander Mountains etc

ALWAYS beware of sellers on Armslist. I discovered 3 different scammers on that website over a period of 2 months selling 5.7's when I was looking for one, and worked with their IT person to get their ads removed, and them banned.
