Re: 2015 SHOT show
Too overwhelming to describe. The industry is doing well. I didn't even make it to the FN booth, yet. Rock Island must have had close to 100 models on display, including a new 22mag 1911, several 6" 1911's, including a very cool 10mm, and Glock uppers to make a Glock into a 22TCM. Scads of very cool...

I am going to stop by the SHOT show next week. Turning green already just thinking about all the stuff I will see that I can't have or can't afford. Anything specific I should look for? I know everyone will have a tacticool tweak to their AR platform, including FN. Anything else new expected?

Re: Rubber Grip Sleeve For FsN?
Blue has also sanded, dremeled and generally fitted the grip of his gun to his hand. My IOM has an almost smooth, dimpled grip that I have come to love. If I were to shoot my USG much, I would have to sand down the grip. I bought a Rock Island 10mm 1911 with VZ grips. Unbearable at first, but a litt...

One of the things I love about my Five Seven is the low maintenance. I pull mine apart and hit the lower with a blast of compressed air, and you could never tell it is not brand new after 5,000 rounds. I pull the barrel out and with a q-tip and carb cleaner, make sure there is no lacquer in the cham...

I have an extra FsN that currently would be better off as a mortgage payment than a safe queen. It is a USG in the older flat box. I use a bulldog case that is kind of a hybrid soft/hard case. I cut places in the foam for extra mags, but there was plenty of room to cut in for a fiveseven. It is a great case. Not hard enough to work for airline shipping, but plenty for banging around in the back of the SUV.

Re: Finally got a PS90
Got it yet? We are still waiting on pics.
I can't recall ever having any sort of malfunction or failure in mine with SS192, SS195, or SS197SR. I just picked up 1,000 rounds of AE. I haven't fired it yet but I will be supremely disappointed if it doesn't function well in the PS90.

Back in the 70's, my parents bought a house that had been built in the late 50's. It was a pretty big house, and it had all mercury light switches. Dad remodeled the house and replaced them all. I cracked every one of them open and got the mercury out. Not as much as that guy had in video, but quite...

Re: gun safes: am I missing something?
I bought a Redhead from Bass Pro. It is chinese made. When I got it home and opened the manual, it was a generic manual that said that the safe may be branded Winchester, Redhead, etc. I have seen all the reviews that show that a truly determined thief can get through most safes. However, bolted dow...

Great pics, Blue. You can appreciate that special place. . I have to share one more story. This daughter in the pic (I have 3) REALLY gets into shooting. Range trip
http://imageshack.com/scaled/large/832/iiut.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.com I took my daughter, a couple of new (to me) handguns, and an old one out to the range last night. I always enjoy taking her out and I get a kick out of what she enjoys. This trip, she really wanted to shoot up a zombie rat...

Jeez, nobody told me Fly's book 2 is out, and already I hear whining about the ending? Must mean it is worth reading. I can't find it in Google Play, so I guess I have to remember my Amazon password and go find it. I tried a David Balducci short story and was not all that impressed. It involved time...

The old IOM has a smooth pebbled grip. It is probably the same size but it feels smaller. Personal preference, but I like it much better. Obviously more people preferred the USG grip, or they wouldn't have changed it.
Re: .45 Porn
I added the one in the middle for my 50th birthday present. Had to have a Detonics .45 in all three sizes.

Ok, Fly, it worked. I downloaded and read "Return of the Phoenix". My turn for review and comment. Not sure I know how to be anything but honest. It started off a little slow. Not because it wasn't what I expected. I had no idea what to expect. It just felt a little amateur, maybe like something I w...

Fly, I will read that one. Sounds good. Currently blazing my way through my addiction to Vince Flynn (Mitch Rapp), Lee Child (Jack Reacher), and Stephen Hunter (Bob Lee Swagger) books. If I can just finish all three series, I can get on to more productive reading. Not really the best use of my time,...

Jrock, I am not an expert, but I think you have it right. Another way to check is the serial number. I have not seen a Gen 2 after serial FN 041400 or so. It would likely have a white ring site or a tri-rail. I think by the time they switched to the black ring site, they had gone to Gen 3. Anybody e...

I only spend enough time at the range to make sure all is working for hunting season. I hunt from a tree stand. I can't imagine trying to use a recurve or longbow from a stand.
