Re: Reloading equipment for 5.7x28mm

I've been reloading old brass for a while and have run into a few problems I felt worth noting. The RCBS shell holder destroys the rim because it has a lip on it that becomes imprinted in the brass. the Brass is also loose and wobbly in it leading to laquer scraping off one side and bullets seating...

Re: 5.4 versus 6 versus 7 inch barrels

I could easily do that. It just would require a 7" barrel to use as a template. With the different barrel lengths, the ones in the picture were designed for the shorter new style barrel to be flush with the slide.

Re: 5.4 versus 6 versus 7 inch barrels

Not to go to far off topic, but I have been toying around and started making and trying custom FSN thread protectors as I like to call them. http://i1360.photobucket.com/albums/r644/grimmond/Mobile%20Uploads/20160229_210906_zpsxc7iwhxs.jpg http://i1360.photobucket.com/albums/r644/grimmond/Mobile%20U...

Re: SS198LF vs 10% clear gel, PS90

This is why I have stated in the past that I am not a fan of jello shots. This is I prefer bone in pork shoulders. Yet since you want more jello here is a video of a jello test performed under lab condition by a well respected Ballistics lab. m1xmYv7x4v0 And yes I am being snarky calling them jello...

Re: SS198LF vs 10% clear gel, PS90

Kiran you need to learn how to use google. There are hundreds of pictures, documents, and statements leaked from Iraq and Afganistan and other places that back up what I saw daily for 10 years. That evidence is visual proof and far outweighs any of your gel tests which are anecdotal. If the wounds f...

As in the other post you are confused with SS195.

Re: SS198LF vs 10% clear gel, PS90

SS198LF strikes me more as a practice round or a California compliant round, not a real self defense or combat round. Unable to reliably penetrate IIIA vests. Unable to achieve sufficient penetration in bare ballistics gel, let alone through denim or glass. Unable to come down in price. You can get...

Re: Thomson Condender in 5.7 x 28?

With twist rates, the smaller the number the heavier the bullet you can stabilize. So for example AR15s with a 1-7 twist can stabilize heavier bullets then an AR15 with a 1-9 twist rate. Thats about the easiest way I can think of explaining it. Hope that helps.

Try again, it works fine now. Just needed to remove the index line it included for some reason.

Re: Newbie with AR Five Seven upper

I wouldn't stress about the patent pending. Alot of companies do that so they can put out the product while waiting on the patent. My gen 2 upper has that. Works fine. Hard to say whether you got ripped off without knowing how much you paid for it, and if it was brand new or not.

Re: Spring Rate Musings

Joe_r95 go back to the beginning of the post and reread what he said. You are missing the whole point of his post. Enough of the BS. The results he is having is being caused by a faulty spring. And as a fact you can compare the shoulder movement between the 2 springs as fact of an issue. With the HD...

Re: Very nice FiveseveN compensator concept art

Not that I want to reign on anyone's parade. But I must be blind, because that looks more like a brick S house then anything elegant. Now get rid of the cuts on the bottom, thin out the design some and blend the design to match the existing slide and you would have an elegant design. Just my 2 penni...

Re: New reloader

It's getting hotter here in Vegas, and I won't be going out to the desert much longer without an EZ-up. Next trip I will try putting the beta chrony under the shade structure. I found that actually worked pretty good. I now also have a gamma master chrony which doesn't seem to be as sensitive to th...

Re: New reloader

I found the beta chrony hyper sensitive to indirect sunlight from the side. I ended up setting up a screen to the side of the sensors to get good readings on mine. I also put the white deflectors on which also helped in other situations.

Use an anti static electronics spray on all your reloading equipment to prevent powder sticking and variations in electronic scales.
