Trade my sights?

Would it be possible to trade my tall target style sights to someone that has lower profile ones, or at least replace mine? I've done some searching, but I've come away a bit confused as to the different sighting arrangments for the FSN. Mine is not the new new one, nor the one with the bulgy trigge...

I've not heard of power pistol being used before, not sure the burn rate or if it's appropriate.

Edit: I just did a search and found a handful of posts...

Re: Pull Marks

Those marks haven't caused me any trouble, and I think the fact that the pills inside rattle is more detrimental to accuracy than the pull marks.

Re: Home Grown SS 190

Could we split the thread, put the AR stuff in the reloading forum? I've got some data to share, but feel like a hijacker. 18" Rainier Wylde chamber AR FC brass, Alcan primer, 32gr black tip, used Lee 2nd edition load data average from 30 and 34gr loads, 2.230 COAL, A2200 powder. 24.6gr - Avg 3422 F...

Re: 2600 fps in FnS... real or hokus pokus?

I've seen near 2400 with my own eyes from a 32gr bullet, although pressure was high. I'd bet with low bearing surface, non-canister powder, 28gr bullet, and the threaded barrel you could knock on the door of 2600, but I don't know that I'd try it. I know nothing about EA ammo, and only a little abou...

Re: ILL Reloader

You're probably not too far from Elite, check with them. How much reloading experience do you have?

Edit: And come on man, IL dropped that extra L from the abbreviation like 20 years ago, please don't tell me you pronounce the S at the end too!

Re: 32 grain copper in pulled FN blue tips.

Check out Grantness, he has a giant post full of reloading information, might have that bullet. It's not super common, so alot of us have never played with it. On the front reloading page, there also some load data for the 31gr SS190 bullet, I'd think if you backed up 5 or 10% you'd be able to work ...

Re: 32 grain copper in pulled FN blue tips.

I've never pulled them down, but my understanding is that the powder changes all the time, and there are huge variances in weight. Most here pull the bullet, dump the powder in the garbage, put in a better powder, then the new bullet.

Re: 40 gr loads with longshot

I tried EA's gauge but my sized shells (lee dies) would only go in about 1/2 way. Factory FN shell went in fine. I tested in barrel and they plunked fine same as factory and they measured within .001 of spec. Anyone else have this with Lee dies. Used imperial lube with no issues. Same here, factory...

How bout some Blue Dot? It's a good one to start with, fills the case really well. True blue is scary small, I bet you could triple load a case and still not compress it.

Re: Reloading equipment for 5.7x28mm

Just an FYI from a new reloader here, I've had zero problems reloading the 5.7. One set of dies, came with the shell holder, no swaging needed, my press mounted primer arms works fine, this forum pointed me in the right direction for powder choice and load data, I was able to exceed factory ammo on ...

Re: Home Grown SS 190

I just got a pound of it myself, it's been as hard to find as anything, but I haven't tried any loads yet. Maybe tomorrow. Looks like it favors lighter bullets Edit: I was wrong, load data doesn't start until the 50gr GMX solid, so it's back to 10x That extra 6" of barrel you're running makes those ...

Re: Home Grown SS 190

Maybe a different powder? I get 3" groups from RL15, 3/4" groups from TAC, everything else being the same. I think RL10 is good for light bullets, maybe 748 or Varget? Oh, or 8208, that stuff could make an oval bullet go straight.

Re: Home Grown SS 190

I run 40gr Vmax in my .223 in the neighborhood of 3600 with no trouble, I think you'll be ok at 3800. No idea about accuracy though.

I started pretty much the same way, but no swaging, and after a couple hundred rounds I got the go/no go. None of mine fit, but they all fire fine. Lee dies and shellholder working good so far, sure wish I had 1200 cases though, think I got like 60 left :( I'm also having trouble with the first roun...

Re: Wal-Mart Selling reloading supplies

Two Wal Marts in northern CO, as well as the one in Canon City carry what seems to be random supplies. The one's in Loveland and Ft. Collins have a decent selection when things are normal, the one in Canon City had rock chuckers, 209s, MEC parts, and pyrodex...so basically you can reload nothing

Re: Do you trust electronic scale/trickler combos? Which on

I agree with no distractions, luckily I got no wife or hampster. When I have the 5 year old, we mostly ride bikes to the park, so no reloading gets done. I'll jam some tunes during resizing or priming, but if there's powder on my bench, no music, no TV, no phone, and I put the cat out. Jay, I'm gues...

Re: Why not a .357 auto?

My bad, I was in the 57 forum, looking at my 57, thinking "why can't we fit .357s in there?" and I figured you all must be thinking the same thing. I also grew up in the 80s, all autos are polymer to me. The only steel auto I own is a Luger.
