Re: I've got wood!

Oh....sorry to hear about that. It one of those "old ones", you know. Hardly wanted by anyone, because it's considered "vintage"...so sad. You don't want to embarrass yourself shooting that old thing...think of what your friends will say seeing you with that antique. Being the generous, good fella' ...

Re: Concealed carry - smaller gun

There are sources for the Lilliput ammo. $35/round seems to be about average. It's obviously not for plinking...bragging rights only.

Re: HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINE BAN for WHAT?

"Yes,", "DON'T", "capacity", "I", "rights", "bear" "Communist", "bastards".
Other than those things it seems to be correct.

Sorry...I don't mean to be a prig, but there were just so many things wrong in those short two sentences I couldn't help myself.

"...fix it"? Removing a live primer? I've never done that because I'm afraid that the primer may ignite in the de-capping process. Is my concern misplaced?

Re: Concealed carry - smaller gun

Want small? How about this one: A Lilliput 4.5. 7-round magazine. Shoots great. And it boasts a staggering 17 ft-lbs of muzzle energy.

Re: My kind of guy!

"...tell them." ???? Have your tried that? It's like talking into a hollow log. They don't have to listen to you or me, they don't listen to you or me. They do listen to the folks that give them BIG bucks, because those folks have the same agendas. "We the People" are losing this nation, if we haven...

Re: IMPORTANT LEGISLATIVE NEWS FOR ILLINOIS RESIDENTS...

Cyberfly...I think your paranoia is about the same as many of us suffer. And well-placed. Many of us want to tell them to "go to hell" with some additional choice words so that even someone of Joe Biden's intellectual capabilities can understand. But we're "just a little bit reluctant" to actually g...

Re: bought 5.7 ammo RECENTLY?

Just before Christmas I was in Sportsman's Outdoors here in Bend, Oregon and they had two or three cases of 5.7x28 ammo, marked (as I recall) at $27.95/box. I went back in there just after Christmas and ALL of it was gone. The guy behind the counter said that one guy came in and bought all they had....

If they are FN magazines, the price is OK, but if they are the ATI Korean-made magazines, skip them.

Re: powder measurment ?

I would definitely recommend that you NOT use a gram scale for any reloading task. The scale might have sufficient accuracy and significant digits to make the conversion to grains adequately, but the conversion method will increase your chances of making an error. You want to avoid errors in powder ...

Re: I need your help... on reading.

I've just finished reading Stephan Greenblatt's non-fiction "The Swerve -- How the World Became Modern". If you have an interest in ancient Greece and Rome culture and society, it is an excellent book. The book describes how, in 1417, a fella' named Poggio discovered an ancient (~200BCE) manuscript ...

I'd seen it before, but it IS powerful and worthy of another round on the internet. The faces of the pompous [expletive deleted by author before posting] Congress-folks are revealing...they look sooooooo interested.

Re: Ban Gun-Free Zones to Halt Mass Shootings

Just after the Connecticut shooting I began receiving emails from folks saying things like, "see...this is what guns do and this is the reason why we should ban them". In putting together a response to them I came across a really interesting Harvard Law Review article, entitled "Would Banning Firear...

Re: White House Petition - Gun Control

The petition is a waste of time. Lanza's despicable actions, together with the other recent shootings, have served as the catalyst that will initiate a series of knee-jerk reactions by self-serving liberals. Those actions will be widely supported in the general population because emotion always wins...

Santa...you have gotten off to a bad start with this group. Well...any group, really. Most of the folks here are very helpful and always willing to give you information if it's asked in a civilized way. It's usually pretty good advice, too. For example, launching an attack on someone is not really c...
