Re: Hornady LNL Questions

I am just beginning to switch to using the LnLoad for 5.7 The only problem I have is the need to trim cases between de-capping /re-sizing and priming then charging. The # 37 ( custom ) shell plate works well for 5.7. ( WARNING it IS expensive!) The powder measure on the LNL is very accurate as measu...

55 grain loads?

I bought some of the blemished 55 gr slugs from Midway
Anyone have a ( non Ramshot ) load for that weight?
Still no Ramshot dealers in Central Ohio
I'm dumping HS 6 now
6.0 behind Hornady 40 Vmaxs

Re: Anyone know where I might find a case gauge?

Thanks Guys
Got the gauge from Elite
and been using it all weekend.
Tighter than my pistol
Factory loads drop in ( of course )
I had some reloads that required a little push
But will drop into the gun.

Thanks again

Rapier,
I wish I were in your shoes and could fire over a standard skyscreen.
Magnetospeed is booked with backorders.
Who knows when they may be able to fill them.

Until then , I am still in the dark!

Re: Anyone own a MagnetoSpeed and try it with your 5.7?

the magnetospeed does not use light Or shadows It reads magnetic ( or metallic ) presence of the bullets passing over the sensors on the Bayonet shaped attachment. That is why placement from the muzzle is critical I was thinking along the lines of your drawing. Just in place of the "bench" would be ...

Re: Anyone own a MagnetoSpeed and try it with your 5.7?

I shoot at an indoor range that will NOT allow anyone past the firing line. Hence my interest in one of these. We have been debating making one attached to a pistol rest that gives a solid forward position. I know there are better chronys and I envy you for having one But right now, I have zip Maybe...

Anyone own a MagnetoSpeed and try it with your 5.7?

http://www.magnetospeed.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; My indoor range will allow me to use this unit ( when they get back in stock ) Now the issue is how to mount it to a pistol rest to fire the FN 5.7 over it. I have been chatting with the makers because they are excited to ha...

Re: Small pistol primers and case life for the 5.7x28FN

my KB was a blown small pistol primer ( and a hole in the case next to it , in the extractor cut)
A light load that the pistol should have handled with ease.
?
Only rifle primers for me, from here out.

Elite Ammo had one on there site

But it is no longer available.

Re: Need help finding supplies.

a novice can reload a 5.7 It just takes patience and focus a neat work space and follow procedures exactly It is no more difficult than reloading for a high power rifle load Case preparation is key. Then weighing every charge and seating over it as soon as dropped. The cost of ammo is all the more r...

Re: New to the forum

Welcome
(I'm new here too and loading for the FN 5.7)
The T/C single shooter gives you a lot of freedom we pistol slingers don't have
BUT you can use some crazy heavy bullets and loads!
Thanks for sharing your info!

Re: Best overall powder?????????

Thanks Rapier
I've been re loadin since the late 60's
starting with my buddy's 7.7 Jap and my first '06

After shooting high power service rifle I guess I loaded 5000 +/- rounds a year.

God knows how many 38's 44's 9 & 10 mm's

But these are my first .22's!

I'll let you know how they shoot!

Preping my first large batch of cases... what is your trim to length? I am currently cutting back to 1.135 and then de-burring. Thanks in advanc...

My smallest carry gun? The Diamondback DB9 7 rnd 9mm 11oz I can make it disappear in the warmest weather clothing AND it is big enough to defend with. My only modification : Sanding the inside of the trigger guard to take the raspiness away. N82tacticle made me a custom, lowered and canted IWB tucka...

Re: Best overall powder?????????

Good to know. I will never handloads for CCW so I was just looking for a decent plinking load. Just enough to be fun and not overstress the brass. Blue dot is indeed slower that True blue so yes you getting more velocity makes sense. \ That is the kind of load I am aiming at. Practice. Plinking Hot...

Wish I could find some True Blue.
I hate to order it.
The powder is $20 +/- and the S & H is $30!

Still looking for a local store that carries it.
Maybe I can get my range to order some in for me...

I have Blue Dot.
