TB is to fast for a 50gr bullet. You will have primer and neck issues. AA#9 would be a better choice.

The below 40gr have plenty of knock down power by way of speed. Folks regularly one shot stop feral hogs at a dead run and deer with 5.7 SS197 and EA's T6B's. EA's Pro2 uses a 50gr Bliztking, That said it's almost sub sonic and will give PS90's fits and is limited to pistols. While I have tested tho...

You can, but the Ruger generates chamber pressures a little higher then the Five Seven.

Keep in mind the 5.7x28mm performs best with rounds at or below 40gr.

50 is the limit to avoid excessive wear if you are loading full power rounds.

SR is thicker unless you get into magnum primers.

SS197 has a heavier 40gr bullet so you would feel more with it over the 27gr SS192/195.

Now if you get EA's 27gr S4 with the same bullet as the SS192/195/198 you will feel a LOT more kick.

Re: Issues with Blue/white box SS195LF?

Might need to clean your firing pin channel. Lacquer and crap will biuld up in it. Even more so on a new gun that has sharp corners on the new firing pin opening.

Re: 5.7 case neck separation

Normally all that happens is the next round won't chamber all the way. You then stop and inspect. Most people do this. You then look in the chamber or at your spent brass. If you go back there are threads about this going back many years. Now the shit goes sideways when people pound the slide closed...

Re: AR-15 Rifles For Home Defense

Also many why you should not even bother. AR15 suck for CQB. Are to big and bulky, Have ejection issues depending on shooter location when moving through a structure, 5.56 preform horrendously in platform under 10 inches. There is a reason there are PDW's in the first place. An SBR PS90 is superior ...

Re: Hornady Teflon Spray

Not only do I recommend sizing lube I recommend sizing and depriming on a single stage and THEN cleaning the cases with the simple green procedure which should remove any one shot residue. Not only does the lube protect the finish but often you have substantial shoulder movement with the 5.7 brass ....

Yeah I like the fact it uses the same mags as my pistol, add to that the lego block AR platform with countless parts and option out there you can add to it.

Re: Which die set is best?

Im a newby to t.7 myself... I went with the Hornady's. Polished the guts of the sizer.. No issues thus far. I do not crimp..., You want to make sure you don't change the spec of the re sizer but polishing goes a long way to protecting the coating on the cases. Also sizing and de priming separately ...

Re: When things return to normal, 5.7x28 long gun

Honestly bang for buck the Banshee can't be beat. Uses same mag as the pistol. AR15 lego block ability to mod out, even the trigger even though the receiver in the magazine area is smaller so no form of insert is needed. SBR PS90 is good, but it's an 1988 design, no updates especially with the polym...

Re: Reloading for CMMG Banshee short variant

You coating should not start coming off in large amounts until you get to about 5x.

Make sure you clean the brass right, also polishing lightly your chamber and your sizing dies goes a long way to protecting the coating.

Re: Reloading for CMMG Banshee short variant

You have to have the coating end of story and the Banshee is designed to work with and need it.

Also annealing really does not help because the primer pocket give out. Before you ask YES even with sub sonic loads the primer gets beat up pretty hard with the 5.7.

Lee does not make a 5.7 crimp die. In the plast folks have modified thier .223 to work with 5.7 CH4D and Hornady make the best 5.7 dies. RCBS and Redding {{{ specifically}}} 5.7 dies suck, dig deep into the reloading section adn you will see issues going back a decade. I am NOT saying ALL RCBS dies ...

Keep shooting what you have been shooting. That letter is a suggestion and won't stand up from a letter from an attorney.

SS198 is FN's manufactures ammo ro the pistol when used by LEO.
