Polish the inside of the die, also just an FYI the shoulder is the part of the case that gets worked the most during firing so of course gets worked the most re sizing.

Welcome to the forum. To be 100% honest the FsN is a combat weapon, the Ruger a plinker. There have been a long list of issues with the Ruger. To be fair, shooting through a piece of neck is not new for the 5.7 platform. As Matt states it happened to some of the other guns during this test also. It just didn't blow them up.
Had it been one of the pistols like the FsN it would have blown the mag out.

Just getting into reloading the 5.7. With the coating being so critical, what about lacquer spraying cases that have been loaded a number of times? 1) I/EA sells a lacquer coating. 2) Normally as long as you haven't compromised the coating through re sizing the coating will last about 5 reloadsers....

Yes you are, as I and many have said for years NEVER fully swage the pocket. If it's crimped just ever so little just swaged enough to remove the crimp and NOT the whole packet. Can you confirm polymer or Aluminum housing?
A small handful of Polymer bodied USSS where imported by FNH.
If it is Aluminum housing is was imported by me when I was acting as their NA/CA/SA distributor.

Just because this round was not designed for long range does NOT mean it doesn't benefit from a bullet with a good BC.

The Lee re sizer puts a taper on the case that gives P90/PS90 fits.
CH4D and Hornady resizer is a one time hit.
Lee crimp is pure shit, CH4D is the way to go crimp wise.
If you're stripping the coating off you will have issues.

threading the barrel with their gas system won't work as it currently designed . The issue is more with how deep the threads go into your device and less how well it's centered on the barrel via the shroud.

Dimensionally the S190 bullets are the same as 27gr 192/195/198. Just a little heavier. So any load data for the 27gr will work just knock it down .2 to .4 of a grain. I would start with .4 reduction of a grain.

FYI when you sage the primer pocket, do it just enough to get rid of the crimp. Fully swaging the pocket will have your primers popping out on 1x loads. 5.7 is hell on primer pockets and the more you work them the more to take away the life of your cases.

So you are running the full lenght barrel? I have a solution if so. I am very close to javingy threaded barrel shroud ready to go. The big thing is though, it will imcrease by 5x the factory blow baxk delay. This should go a very long way to helping PS90"s no matter what can or ammo they are using.

Re: Shooter's world powders
As you have found out equivalent does not mean the same, even more so when used in 5.7 loading since the case pressures range it works in is outside that of normal powders.

I would like to see the results of your first thoroughly scrubbed results. Once the chamber is thoroughly cleansed a Q-tip soaked with Card Clean after each range trip will normally keep it clean.

Re: AR57 is back
Shitty chamber cutting his the hallmark of Jarvis barrels, but I have also had feed back on AR57 chambers being out of spec or just really poorly reamed. I would look into polishing the chamber, I would suggest using one of my/EA snap caps to test the but I haven't had those in stock since fucking c...

Re: AR57 is back
OK not an AR57 guy. I never really got into it. I have friends, hell one of them is a founding member of this forum and has dozens of videos, many I use, showing him shooting EA ammo through his first gen and it works perfect . Denting of the case yes it's normal. Your chamber, have you thoroughly c...

Re: Neck Separations, What to look for and Why.
Well I got into the 5.7 because I was and still am an old school full power 10mm guy. I really got into the BOZ. It came from the same trials as the 5.7 and 4.6 H&K. Well nothing came of the BOZ since it needed a platform. So I ended up with the FsN. I purchased the first civilian sold USG in NA. St...

Re: First handloads - success
Because QL uses government models developed years ago. One being shooting a 30.06 over a lake at dead calm night and measuring the distance and time of the splash. The 5.7 operates at the edges of these models. The farther you move away from the baseline the less accurate the models. This is why I n...

Re: Is there a good factory carry load?
Well your first problem is expecting the 5.7 to do something it was never designed to do. While you can get it to mushroom, it is designed to bend and tumble once it's in soft tissue. While the SS197 uses the Hornady V-Max and there are much better carry rounds the Ft. Hood shooter used it to great ...
