Re: Timney trigger or Geissele Super Scar for the 17 S?
Have tested both on a 17S. Prefer the SupserSCAR Geissele trigger. Although Shooting Sight now offers a SCAR trigger that is a two stage and definitely worth researching before you make your final commitment. Many thanks for throwing this option on my radar. I'll start researching it right away. :t...

On all of my ARs I use a dual stage, oddly enough I was thinking single stage on this rifle. I was thinking it was designed more for reactive shooting vs. precision, if that make sense?blueorison wrote:1. What is your application?

Timney trigger or Geissele Super Scar for the 17 S?
I'm on the fence on which trigger to purchase. I've read some issues with the Timney and with the recent price increase on the Timney's to $309 make it a short bump to go with the Geissele Super Scar Trigger. I could sure use anyone's input that has traveled this path already.

A tip for marking your brass
When I'm ground hog hunting, I usually reload when my box of 50 gets low. There's always a few left and I keep pretty good records of how many times I've reloaded my brass. So I take a sharpie and color in the notch at the base of the brass to tell which brass hasn't been reloaded with the last batc...

FWIW, I have had nothing but great experiences with P22. Feeds as much ammo as MkII does. No problems with wear. My sister has one, I own one, my dad has one. I have to agree with this statement. About 5,000 rounds through mine and not a single issue. Super fun to shoot and not too bad on the accur...

This is a very nice weapon. How is the recoil? Is rapid fire and accuracy easy to achieve or to maintain? The recoil "to me" is just a tad more than shooting AR-15 .223. Shooting 50 to 100 rounds and walking away without a sore shoulder is no problem. Rapid fire and accuracy are an oxymoron for me....

Re: My 6mmPPC BR rifle
I wound up purchasing a Harrell's arbor press. So far, it seems to fit the bill. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u29/DeathWraith07/09%20Hunting/Guns/IMG_0713.jpg I had quite a few problems getting my arms around the Redding Type S dies that take the different neck washers. I've never reloaded wit...

My 6mmPPC 262NK BR rifle
This post is for flyingirish04 as promised... This is my first and last bench rest rifle I built with lots of help from some friends. What started me on this venue is my good friend had a terrible accident and is paralyzed from the waste down now. We built a shooting table that's hooked up to a trai...

I was thinking about trying my hand on this. Do we mail the targets in? Video it and YouTube for verification. Apologies for the n00b questions, I've never competed in anything since NRA class 45 years ago. :ponder:

Most efficient round out there. 6PPC is the only 100 and 200 yard bench choice. Ever shoot any dasher? Love that round. What action is that btw? March scope? I'll post a my build thread on that rifle in the rifle section. A BR rifle was very low on my list and there's a story why I got into it. Hop...

Ok, I have to think about how to respond to this recent flurry of replies... flyingirish04 - Point taken on too much magnification. Point taken that over a $500 scope is a waste of $$. Point taken as well that this is a 'battle rifle' and a complete waste of $$ again for my intended purpose. I get i...

As far as hunting goes, there is a thread for that here, and some will appreciate videos/information. Actually, an entire sub-forum . Esteves, I understand there's a specified hunting/fishing section in this forum but it's tough 'for me' to put that much energy into a review with pictures and decen...

Thank you very much for you insight. I should have provided more input here. My apologies. My intended purpose will be for varmint hunting. Fox, coyote and groundhogs being the lions share of what I do. The 308 will be Thor's hammer on these critters and clearly it's overkill (pun not intended). I d...

Re: Leupold LR/T 3.5-10x 40 FDE for a SCAR?
The price range of this scope is around 1300 to 1400. Magnification is a jackpot question. I'm unsure of how accurate this rifle will be further out. Say... 400 - 500 yards. It seems to me that if you spend the coin on a higher power scope, it would be a waste based on the capabilities of the rifle....

A tip for people that use the Hornady Lock-n-Load press
I used my Bass Pro reward points this year and purchased a Hornady Lock-n-Load AP press. The red bin that comes with it for throwing bullets in is pretty handy. I looked on the usual places on the net for reloading supplies and they want anywhere from $6.99 to $6.25 for these bins. I looked on the b...

I treated myself to a custom made hunting knife
I saw this fellow's work on another forum, so I contacted him to make me a knife to my specs. Here's what he came up with and believe it or not, this was the third knife he had ever made. I almost feelguilty using it in the field but I always wanted a nice knife just once in my life. I'm quite sure ...
