I've had a case split like that on the first reload. I do not remember the charge weight but it was a decently hefty charge of blue dot behind a 55gr fmj. It only happened once so I didnt think twice about it. I have had a few .44mag factory winchester brass do that before.

I use rcbs dies. Only ruined one case with it, oddly enough, the very first case I sized. However, they are not bumping the shoulder back .005" or so enough. I do not have access to a milling machine or what not and the difference doesn't seem to hinder function, so I just let it be for now.

I have loaded up to 6gr of Blue Dot behind a 55gr fmj. I would recommend against loading this, as my mag on the ps90 popped almost every shot. Also I have a feeling that it was a VERY stout load with very little room for error... However, there were no popped primers or even leakage around the prime...

Yeah I dont really care how loud it is. I almost never shoot indoors. Always were hearing protection and double up inside. The flash supression is what did it for me. If it works almost as well as the 556 version ill be pretty dang happy.

.308 brakes

I am getting a dpms LR-308 for christmas. I have not shot it yet but I know I am going to want a brake of some kind on it to reduce the recoil/muzzle climb. Any of you guys have any experience with 308 brakes? Recommendations? Noise/blast is not a concern to me.

I was working with some and blue dot with my ps90. The only conclusive data I got was that they destroy chronographs very nicely. I would have to look back but I remember using a pretty hefty charge with them and I wasn't having any issues.

Another big thumbs up for Hornady One Shot. Its the only case lube I use for anything. Also, might want to clean again after sizing to get the lube off. Some don't do it but I do, I might just be being anal though.

I would make the arguement to say that gun control makes the severity of the crimes worse; VaTech, Fort Hood, this recent tragedy, just to name a few. If just one person was carrying a gun they could have potentially saved soooo many lives. But y'all know this already.
