Re: 62gr Milsurp

I remember a guy creating some type of tray that would hold bullets base down position. He placed that in his lead pot and melted out the lead. I don't remember what the outcome was or what he used to replace the lead. I think that zink stuff they use for hobby casting would work. I think in the end...

Re: FiveseveN and motorcycles

My MC Jacket has a nice big pocket in which I put my fiveseven. I think it is supposed to be a Map pocket. I would think just carrying in a holster would work.

Re: Combat Sights

I am not sure which load the Fixed sights are regulated for, but given the difference in point of Impact between ss197 & 195 I'd go adjustable. Not to mention if you start loading your own ammo. I carry my adjustable sitghted 5.7 in an IWB holster with little discomfort.

Re: critter ammo?

While I have never seen or shot a cougar, from what I have read they are not heavy boned like a bear. I would think the T6 would work just fine as would Protector, Protector II.

Re: Any loads for 50 grain Hornady V-Max

Well I tried the 50 Grn VMAX 5.7 TB=1700 FPS 5.8 TB=1722 FPS 5.9 TB=1736 FPS 6.0 TB=1768 FPS Below is a picture of the 50 GRN VMAX compared to the 50 GRN Nosler CBST, both were fired at similar velocity 1750FPS at water jugs(not that scientific) but they both expanded well. The water bottles were 30...

Re: Any loads for 50 grain Hornady V-Max

I just loaded up some of these with TB and will shoot them next week, I used data for the 50 Nosler CBT bullet and stayed away from the Ifires max load due to the lack of moly coat. Lyman offers a moly coating kit which I may try out, I would think that coating any of the available Bullets used in t...

Re: Lead Free primer vs Lead primers

Not sure about Modern Primers, but I bought some WW I era 303 british ammo that worked just fine! ss197 uses a standard primer is that correct?

Re: A couple of loading ??

I answered one of my questions, I picked up some of the SM rifle #41 CCI primers for 5.56 ammunition. I got misfires, however I also had some with my other loads using CCI sm. rifles that day, I made the gun safe cleaned and lubed it while at the range and started over, back to normal! worked everyt...

Re: iFire's FiveseveN Load Data

I tried the 6.0 grain load with the 50GRN CBT bullet, worked great! 1740FPS. Does anyone know how this bullet performs at this velocity?

Thanks for the data!

A couple of loading ??

Hey Guys, I have a FiveSeven IOM which I picked up right after they started selling to the General public. It is one of my favorite guns. I have messed around with a few handloads since I got my dies a couple of years ago but nothing serious. I think I've shot more 5.7 reloads in the last couple of ...
