Re: Sen. Ted Cruz

A sad lament, Blue, but you are not alone in having become almost numbed by our "leaders" ignorance of what made America great, and seeing how rapidly the fire of our destruction is spreading or content with direction we're taking. But without hope...? In 1823, Evgeny Baratynsky said, "Providence ha...

Re: Early Testing With Hex Boron Nitride

I'd never heard of hexagonal boron nitride so I Googled it. I got page after interesting page of scholarly papers about it's structure and properties, but I saw no citations identifying where one could buy some to try it. I drew a blank on that. Where did you find it and what's the brand name of the...

Re: Massive influx of children across the Texas border

Teflon, If I could fence my town in, I would. It would be for the better. I don't like to disagree with folks, Teflon, but I've got to do that in the case of your post. Sure, life is tough in Equador and Guatemala and Mexico. But life is tough in many places. Chicago, Detroit, Oakland, Pittsburg...y...

Re: Massive influx of children across the Texas border

How much things have changed in the last decades.... In 1974, I worked at Stanford Research Institute. We wanted to hire a PhD physicist who lived in Montreal, Canada. Before he would be allowed to emigrate to the United States and allowed to work here, the US Immigration folks required SRI to prove...

Re: Anyone have any data for CFE Pistol?

Using a powder's burn rate is not a good criteria to use, by itself, to load a cartridge. I don't know enough about interior ballistics to offer an alternative, but that very question about using True Blue for use with a .17 Hornet load came up. I asked Hornady if True Blue would be OK for .17HH bec...

Ship UPS, with a labels marked "ORD-M" prominently placed on package. (You can find some of these online, or you can make some up yourself. No problems, no extra charge.

Cannot comment on value.

I've ordered from EA a couple of times and, once, there was a problem...with the go-nogo gauge. I found Jay easy to talk to and he told me that I likely needed a different case sizer, I was determined that mine was OK and that I couldn't use their gauge. When I asked for a refund, it was promptly cr...

Re: Pretty damn depressed and had a weak moment

SnK... I've got a safe full of various arms. Rifles of all calibers from .17 to 45-70, and handguns from 4.25mm (a "Lilliput") through the Dirty Harry .44Mag to .45 Colt, and almost a continuum in between. At various times, I muse about selling one or more, followed by which one(s) would I sell. In ...

Re: SuperBowl, Coke, WTF?

I've been married to an English woman for 38 years. I captured her in the UK from her home in Claygate, Surrey. (That's about 30 miles SW of London.) She's as English as they get. And believe me, if you speak "American", you ain't speaking English. We are fortunate, however, that there is enough sim...

Re: SuperBowl, Coke, WTF?

Today's edition on Breitbart.com carried an article by Michael Leahy, entitled "Why Coca-Cola's Multicultural 'America The Beautiful' Ad Was Offensive." He hit it on the head, I think. In one paragraph he wrote, "As far as the executives at Coca Cola are concerned, however, the United States of Amer...

Re: SuperBowl, Coke, WTF?

I also thought the Coke commercial was disrespectful of America and American values. I attempted to tell them so via their "contact us" link on their website. But that link provides a contextual-reply computer to respond to queries. It doesn't seem to understand negative comments.

Thank you Cyber, thank you Rapier. The thread makes sense to me now. I might have to check this out. I did get to shoot an H&K MP-5 at an indoor range in Scottsdale (AZ) a few years ago. The training consisted mostly of how to operate the action, warning us that the muzzle would rise and to hold it ...
