Re: safety

To clarify, I never came close to accidentaly firing it, only brushing the side of the trigger. Practice has already cured that, but it made me start experimenting and it looked like it could definitly happen, not when you're calm at the range but, as I said, in a high stress situation. I've heard o...

safety

I have a feeling you're all gonna laugh at this but.... I've noticed when practicing for stress situations that when I flip off the safety my finger sometimes contacts the trigger so I played around with it unchambered and it seems pretty easy to actually fire it when rapidly flipping the safety off...

Re: Holsters

I also prefer Kydex but I've gone back to shoulder holsters because carrying on the waist tends to be hard on my guns (for instance, yesterday I was ib waist deep snow, and there always seems to be dirt, brush, bumping and banging) and this was about the only shoulder holster choice if you're going ...

Re: Holsters

I recently found Westwoods Landing Holsters who make, among other things, SHOULDER HOLSTERS FOR PISTOLS WITH LIGHTS, not an easy thing to find. They're a modular set up. If you buy a shoulder harness and adaptor, and paddle, then any holster you buy from them works as belt, vertical or horizantal sh...

Re: Fixed sight or Adjustable?

Adjustable, definitly. If you're looking for a point blank self defense gun, there are probably better options than the fiveseven. If you want to be accurate out past 50 yds, the fiveseven shines and adjustable sights make it all work. Mine came with fixed and I was going to sell it untill EA instal...

another newbie light question

I expect to get beat up a bit for asking this but I did a search. Which light (I've been looking at the TLR 2 IR, M6 and surefire) has the best range. I've learned that my fiveseven is a very effective 50yd. coyote gun and I'd try a shot at 100yds. The above lights are laser equipped 'cause I though...

Thanks E.A.

I realize Elite Ammunition's reputation doesn't need my endorsement on this forum but I have to give him a big "atta boy" anyway. I just got my slide back with his adjustable night sights and couldn't be happier. The work is first class and I can finally hit what I'm aiming at. I was ready to sell t...

Re: Best way to conceal a fiveseven?

I put it in an uncle mikes holster and clip it into my leather jackets inside pocket. Sorry, not too much help for FL carry :ponder: At first I was worried about stability, but the holster actually clips strong enough to hold the gun in the pocket if turned upside down (I just wouldn't throw it aro...

Re: New FiveseveN Model

Sorry to drag this up after so long but I've been too busy to try to solve my problem since I posted last. FN told me the 40gr ammo was made for the long guns and shot 3" low at 10 yds out of the pistol in their own tests. Makes a guy wonder why they didn't put that bit of info in any of their liter...

Re: FNH Contact Information

Tim at FN told me there's an online company store for Browning / FN where you can buy parts. Does anyone know the address?

Re: New FiveseveN Model

Panzer,
Then I assume you HAVE put the adj. sights on the new model. If thats the case, I'll be sending you the slide. Could I hire you to do the trigger as well? And do you have a pic of your sight mounted on the new model?

Re: New FiveseveN Model

OK, call me a dinosaur but I can't figure out how to attach the pics I took. As for the ammo, it's the blue box 197. I haven't chronographed it yet but this isn't a bullet drop situation (it shoots approx. 1" low at 10 yds, 2" at 20, etc.) I'm going to call FN and ask them if the old model slide cov...

Re: New FiveseveN Model

You didn't read much of this thread. I adjusted the sights for windage per instructions. It took about 5 minutes. There is real gunsmithing involved with adjusting them for elevation. Mine looks like the pic in the first post of this thread - rectangular depression for fixed sight. The pics posted b...

Re: New FiveseveN Model

I think you're right. The barrel and front sight are aligned with the slide but the cover is warped. I'll post some pics this weekend. Still doesn't fix the shooting low problem. Anyone know if there is an adjustable rear sight to fit the new model, which regardless of what has been posted here, has...

Re: New FiveseveN Model

Oh, Sorry, I wasn't referring to anything you posted, but now that you mention it, this sight was almost out of adjustment when I got it shooting center, partly due to the front sight being off center. And the fact that it shoots low has me wondering about spending a bunch of money to make a thousan...

Re: New FiveseveN Model

Hi, I'm new to the forum and just put a hundred or so rounds through my buddies new USG. As for adjusting the fixed sights for windage, it's childs play, just like the manual says. Just move it .006" per inch at 30 yds. I used a feeler gauge. As for elevation, I wasn't impressed. It shoots low, abou...
