Re: Sponsor for event- you'd think FN would ask for a balanc

This event- can't speak for all other NRA past events. Seamed fair in course layout. I can't think of any shot that I was forced to take at a firing area that would have been better shot from another. We had one stage with Christmas trees and I think 8 targets mixed around. We had freedom to shot ho...

And heat.

One thing I didn't notice on the replies. A new gun needs to be lubricated correctly. Did the OP just pull it out of the box and attempt to run a new tight weapon, dry?

Blue I will take your advice and if an event is within a decent drive I will go and watch. Maybe offer to be RO to learn.

Re: Sponsor for event- you'd think FN would ask for a balanc

The rules cost me 20 points. I took a long stride off a log instead of going to the blue exit then coming off. I'm very atheltic and pretty fit so taking a long stride off a log isn't that extreme to cost 10 points. Then I lost another 10 points for putting my toes across the redline at the end of a...

Sponsor for event- you'd think FN would ask for a balance

I didn't major in business. But a part of me would think a company giving money/support would expect at the very least for their products to not be placed at a disadvantage. Finished up a NRA tactical police event. Running all FN. Fiveseven, ps90, and borrowed slp. :(. One one stage with 4 plates. F...

Re: Need to vent: safety

I don't find he recoil to be anymore or less enough to effect shooting. The trick is the bullet is so fast that it's able to exit the barrel before the typical trigger over travel movement causes a low left shot placement (for right hand shooting). Also the fiveseven has a clean trigger with a prett...

Re: Head shot on Osama Bin Ladin!

Will never know- alleged body dumped at sea. So we can say it was a fiveseven that was used. We can also say Elvis was found in the cave with him.

Need to vent: safety

A Law enforcement officer needs a weapon that they can shoot accurately. Period. IT should not be based on the purchasing officials biased opinion or be focused the lowest budget option. The safety of the officer, other officers and citizens are all effected. Yes some people can shoot anything and e...

Re: Trigger Job...not too bad

Trigger reset action comes from the trigger connect bar. The end of the bar has two prongs. When fired the sear disconnects then reconnects as the slide operates. Trigger bar prong is now on the front side and must reset backwards sliding under the bottom of the sear. The sear bottom end can have so...

Re: Trigger Job...not too bad

Voodoo, as noted already you have to have the vertical piece. It's the firing pin block lift. Hammer spring- I used my vise and a small needle nose just to push. But your method looks even better. I worked over my sear angle and sear depth. About a 50% reduced pull length and right about 4lbs. Along...

Re: Problems that a FsN can have?

I've seen fn machine guns used and cleaned so much that they had a polished chrome look. That must have taken years of hours with a private using the tooth brush and clp.

Re: Five-seveN gets some love?

This weeks is the 25th anniversary of a FBI shooting that helped to modernize LE equipment and training. Back them very few officers had rifles if any had them. Shotguns were also limited. Revolvers were the mAin sidearm. Fast forward to 2011: and LE typically carries a 25yr old weapon- the Glock. I...

Re: Factory optic compete w aftermarket optics in 3gun

Trained with the ps90 on mulitiple targets, different ranges and movement. I am absolutely thrilled at the accuracy and speed! Even from my worst shooting position, standing, I was able to shoot really tight groups. I went for near full speed and still shot tight groups. One course I was 40 points b...

Re: Problems that a FsN can have?

My simple mind:
FN designs machine guns capable of years of military use. Looking at the parts and function of the fiveseven shows a modern design that will stand up.

Even a cheap Glock with it's old budget design will last xxxxx of rounds.

Re: Trigger over travel screw

Update: Twice ive used jbWeld two part epoxy with short term good results. First time I made a rookie mistake and failed to clean the blue off and the over travel stop just mashed and slide upwards. Second time I cleaned the blue off and roughed up the metal. Still the over travel movement eventuall...
