Great info from Jay, this helped me buy my first FiveseveN. Mine came in from MidwayUSA last week and it's a black mk2 :) (with the changed slide release and beefed up left side by the safety.) The Hydrashok is pretty weaksauce. They should have used Underwood; it is basic knowledge/common practice to exceed/overtest your equipment (EAA Witness/Stock3), not undertest it. Even (ew) Sig 10mm would have been better as it isn't underloaded. 2000 rounds is pretty fair. 5000 for 9mm. Then again,...

So, lots of thoughts, but the answer is that if you are trying to hit a smaller/small target at 25yds, the best way to do it is to get to position as fast as possible and then engage; not shoot on the move. In other news, 5.7x28mm is progressing. One cool progression is the Fort28 pistol that has actually materialized. Video is on youtube. Not much to go on, but still better than nothing.

You can SBR the 5.7 pistol with KPOS. Have the barrel threaded for suppressor & get as close as you are going to get for MP7. Warning that would turn your pistol into a 2 stamp gun. All NFA rules would apply. http://www.fab-defense.com/en/category-pistol-to-carbine-conversion-kit/id-267/pdw-convers...

Re: FiveseveN Mk II Failure to Extract
.02 Bottom line: Slide is NOT cycling back far enough during failure. ___ Cold bore shot; the components/materials that need to be warmed up are not warm enough. Spring is too heavy for the relatively weaker factory ammunition you are shooting. Magazine spring's upward force on the rounds and the su...

Re: Just purchased a 57 MKII. I just had some general quest
Welcome and congrats! I don't think you're asking the right question if your question is "Did anyone else have to adjust the sights from the factory for ___ ammo." On any given day they could change their procedures to adjust the sights or not adjust them after installation. Further, powder changes ...

Re: Blackhawk Serpa holster review
Resurrecting this thread from the dead.... Blackhawk FINALLY offered a Serpa for the FiveseveN MKII, they produced 300 units and then shut production down. By the time I found out about it the only source I could find was a reseller on eBay. I wound up paying almost $120.00 for a holster that shoul...

Re: New Member Introduction
Hello Guys, FNG here. I caved and bought an FN 5.7 2 weeks ago, making it my second FN handgun. The other is an FNP-40. I am a reloader, Conceal Carrier, and competitive rifle shooter. I don't shoot pistols near enough IMO. I finally started reloading for pistols this year, and have been improving ...

Thanks, everyone, for the birthday wishes! This year was probably my best birthday in a long time! I felt bad making people wish me Happy Birt...

Re: FN9 Long Slide - Slide Release
Don; 2 main things; 1. Some clubs are really stringent on external modifications (as outlined by the rulebooks) on pistols, especially if you're shooting USPSA Production (you shouldn't be shooting IDPA, it makes you a worse shooter). Others don't care. Most don't. 2. The slide release is a slightly...

Dude, Mike, your smith is rad.
Sounds like he is a true nerd/engineer/pistolcrafter at heart. I really enjoyed reading the F86 bit.
I think your FO front and factory rear is the ticket (my pref would be to black out the stupid white dots in the rear, too!)
Can't wait to see it!

Thanks, Mike! I'm taking a breather from USPSA, tired of stage planning. As far as 3Gun... you might hear something soon. The FsN is still my favorite pistol, alongside the .460XVR 7in Perf Center and the 10mms. When Jay is done with his extended slide project and my MkII, I'll take it to 3Gun and s...

Re: FsN MKII Sights
I think the front blade sight is implemented as such, for an attachment of a suppressor. I could be wrong but it makes sense to me. Initially, this came to mind, but it would barely even clear the rear of the suppressor, if it could. Also, I've seen multiple rear sights snap off or their screws com...

This is why I have been offering lower front sights. The lower front blades though they sell aren't drilled and fill while we will over them. .490 is factory MKI, MKII, IOM etc. The .357 Night Sight is for the fixed sights. The .337 and .383 FNH never made night sights but I will be offering them s...

FsN MKII Sights
Aren't designed very intelligently. I bought a MkII and out of the box the rear sights looked like they were at the end of the set screw for elevation in the up direction. I thought they implemented that practice as a safety precaution, and clicked it down 20 clicks. The sight was still very far fro...

FsN has low recoil - good for older people who don't prefer higher recoil firearms; carries a lot of ammo that is also very light. Mags are easy to load.
