Re: Rim Problems
If you mean the rim is becoming flanged toward the extractor rebate then that’s a common problem. The small case head barely spans the primer drop hole so it doesn’t take a lot of force or too many reloading cycles to get it bent upward. One thing that may help a little is decapping without sizing. ...

CCI's are fine for all, but the higher pressure rounds. I remember EA noted that higher pressure loads tend to blow out CCI primers more easily than other brand and that they preferred Winchester or Wolf primers for 5.7.
I've used CCI with good results, but I don't load to max pressure so YMMV.

Re: how the president salutes
What ever happened to getting behind our president, even if he was from a different party, and trying to make the country a better place? Now all we do is work to inhibit, derail, and thwart the other party, no matter what the cost. Since when was this good for the nation. "United We Stand, Divided...

I'm glad to see some good humored tit for tat, instead of the usual hate filled poision I usually see spit at other gun forums. Re: Brass longevity?
I typically lose about 15% of my 3x brass to splits at the shoulder. After 4x, the primer pockets start to become enlarged. I put 5x in the container marked "Zombie," just in case I need them in a pinch. You also start to get a bending of the "rimless" rim from the decapping and sizing process pushi...

Re: New to Five Seven reloading, where to find dies?
There are several people who have reported satisfactory results using the RCBS dies. The negative reports had to do with the small base die sets, but there may have been issues with RCBS standard dies (tolerances?) as well. The lube shouldn't cause any loss of the lacquer coating. That is all caused...

Read back through this thread. I believe it was mentioned and Top Brass had a typo and corrected the price. Who knows, it could have been a price increase once they saw how much activity they received on 5.7x28 brass orders.

Yeah, it's just a zip tie cut to length. I posted that on the old forum and I think on the current forum. Here's a video of it in use: 550 Ejector Mod
It probably isn't required, but it does help reduce the amount of time you spend getting the cases to eject smoothly.

Removing the crimp or primer stakes removes material that actually helps to securely hold the primer. Also, depending upon the pressure of your loads, the primer pockets have a tendency to grow a little after each firing. The RCBS Trim Pro does not come with the optional 3-way cutter head which will...

+1 on what everyone else said. The only thing I'll add is that it will cost you less to reload per round and more overall because you'll shoot a lot more. You'd still need two shell holders so you can decap on one and size on the other with the decap pin removed. Re: not having good luck with my shellholder
Also, try decapping them first with a universal decapping die. I think a .223 die will work if you don't have a decap only die. This should help reduce the downward force on the brass slightly. The recommendation to polish the mouth and inner die body should not be ignored. It will reduce friction a...

Re: Lacquer coating solution
The pistol isn't as sensitive as the PS90 regarding the lacquer coating. FNH put it there for a reason and that was for reliability. I'd like to see a 1000 round comparison of lacquer vs. non-lacquer coated ammo through a factory PS90 with a stock chamber and see how things shake out. The problem ma...

Chambers out of tolerance could be the case, but it is more likely weak or weakened brass that is the cause. IIRC, FN had a specific lot of brass that was slightly out of spec (too thin near the neck?). At any rate, I'm glad to hear they functioned well for you. Thanks for the info. I just can't see...

Those look good for the first time on paper, burdy. I personally practice between 15 and 30 ft because in a home defense situation, 30 ft is about as far as I could shoot inside my house.
