Ferret-It also might be wise to note that picking up the phone and calling Bob is probably going to result in a faster response than email. Just a thought... :ponder:

Tim at FN told me there's an online company store for Browning / FN where you can buy parts. Does anyone know the address?

My slide stripper (slide disassemble level) broke in half I the Mark2 model. I am not sure if the one they have on the website is the correct model for my mark2

Re: FNH Contact Information
Hey does anyone know exactly which parts are interchangeable between the USG and MK2? I know the slide, barrel, safety lever and take down lever are not interchangeable. I think basically everyone ought to know this. Can anyone possibly chime in on this?

No the slide IS interchangeable, so is the safety lever, so is the take down lever and cam.
Only the BARREL is not interchangeable unless it is the threaded barrel we sell since it was designed to be interchangeable.

Ow really i was told otherwise. I need a new take down lever because mine split in half. It still works but it looks ghetto. I hope its just the one pin you have to remove to install it.

Wait, I read that as the slide IS interchangeable? Is that what you meant to say?panzermk2 wrote:No the slide IS interchangeable, so is the safety lever, so is the take down lever and cam.

Ruh roh, then something's not right...
From The New FsN Mk II Compared to the USG thread:
Found it, JollyRogers said it worked for dry firing but didn't live fire test it.

I can try it again, but from what I remember it was close but no cigar. And by "no cigar" I mean that my impression was that it was a KABOOM-worthy no cigar.

Re: FNH Contact Information
The most recent version of the MKII slide shipped from FHN as an assembly will work just fine on MKI pistols.

WHAT.
So is the geometry the same for the lower..? I thought the positions and vectors were different... apparently they're the same and so all they changed was the exterior texturing of the grip?

Nope they changed the frame all around inside and out including the material used and the density of it. The slide though does not ride on the frame it rides on the rails, the rails part of the hammer pack which I have stated on that review video comparing the MKI and MKII that all the internal bits are the same.
You did watch the three unlisted videos I made detailing the differences. You know the private links I sent you?
Now I do think the first few NEW complete MKII pistols may not have swapped slides correctly with MKI pistols and I chalk that up to early production kinks.

Re: FNH Contact Information
Yes, I watched them; I remember you saying that. That's really weird; we need more early samples to test, for a larger sample size.
