Holster sources for FsN

Post by Rapier1772 » 12 Jan 2011, 00:41

When contacting any of the businesses below, make sure you designate which model you have. If you find a company that makes the MkII, please let us know so that we can note it.
The MkII may not fit in the same holsters as the original USG!
The MkII is also new enough that some companies may not have a template to build on.
These sources are in regards to the FN FiveseveN, not all guns. Many of the manufactures listed here also have mag pouches, those have an asterisk(*) next to them (think I got them all). All of these were found on the forum (or members have added them since the thread was created) so if you have questions please use the search function & see if the question was answered in the other thread.

Also: please keep this a resource thread for places that make holsters for the FsN. Post review type comments (praises/bashing/modifying of holster/types/features) in another thread, hopefully a review type thread. If there isn't one, consider that a reason to make one :thumb: For tips, tricks & other comments, please use this thread -> http://www.fivesevenforum.com/viewtopic ... 15&t=11963

If you have a new source then yes, please post it here so we can update the list.

Great job!

I updated the "Other Resources" thread to point here regarding holsters.

Man thanks alot !! After almost a year and a half, I still haven't bought a decent holster for my Five-Seven, but I just found a guy here in Nashville when I was checking out our local firearm selling/buying website the other day. This guy has some GREAT looking holsters. I'm going to drop my Five-Seven off in a couple weeks because he has never done one before, but after that he shouldn't need your Five-Seven I wouldn't think. He uses elephant, stingray, and one or two others, and man they really caught my eye. He even does two-tones with black elephant hide and tan leather....plain beautiful. I think I am going to get ann all black one in the elephant or stingray-not sure which one yet. Here is the website: http://www.BiancheriUSA.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Very nice looking holsters.

Actually did some shopping today at a local store and found a serpa blackhawk holster. Said it would fit the FN 57 USG and it wouldn't fit my FN 57... Because my 57 has the adjustable sights, the front blade is a little larger than the fixed sight 57s. It causes major friction in the top of the holster and won't fit. Thus I haven't found anything yet on blackhawks website. Still researching. Will post what I find because I want a serpa blackhawk style.

That's very odd. Many of us use the Serpa and it works fine. The Serpa isn't exclusive to the fixed sights version, don't be confused by the picture above. Mine had adjustable sights on it and it worked fine. It should work fine with yours. The Serpa has been out for quite a long time, from before the fixed sights were even in existence.

It is odd. In fact the salesman took the FN 57 and we tried out different holsters. No dice. Might have tried 6-8 different serpa holsters. They had to use the display one (which was exactly like mine). The closest one they had the salesman had to shove it in scrapping the top the holster. I think he might have marred the front blade a little. Too bad and I told him it should have just slide in nicely.

Hmm my serpa fits my FSN just fine. I have one of the Garrett holsters (IWB) coming for the FNP-45. I'd like to get a CBST for it to compare, but am limited on funds. Will let you guys know how the GI holster is.

If you are asking for pics of the Minotaur, pics and reviews are here viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8419&start=20" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. There are pics & reviews of the crossbreed there as well. For the Serpa, viewtopic.php?f=15&t=10678" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On that note - instead of the random comments here & there about various holsters, it would probably be helpful to actually post a review, complete with pics, for the specific holsters. If y'all have time - get busy! :D

Post a pic of the side profile of your FsN. Also, measure the length and hight of the blade at the apex.

Found a vid. More towards the end of the vid you can see more. The front sight is larger in that vid and the grove for the front blade.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayoNiIm9Ymk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Measured the blade for mine is 3/8 inches tall.

His FsN looks like an adj sights version. If the front sight is larger in the vid and fits the Serpa, then yours should fit...no?

I just watched 2 seconds of the video.

Called black hawk, looked at my invoice, FN 57 USG. Should work, but mentioned adjustable sights and balckhawk mentioned that might be an issue. Still scratching my head and also occured to me the wrong holster might have been in the package. The packages were easily opened and people messing with them might have been fiddling around and put the wrong holster in.

Anyone with a FN 57 USG adjustable sights with blackhawk serpa. Pics please. I am stumped at this point.

To my knowledge, the USG has the adjustable sites unless specified as 'fixed site'.

Did another trip to store. Actually found a model number online and looked at thier selection. Box is marked for ALL different models so I have been misled. So far I found that blackhawk serpa 410518BK-R is what I am looking for. Online might be my only option as our gun is special :) Calling around the area, but so far bust.

Exactly. The FsN Serpas are universal to the FsN USG variants. Which is why I am puzzled as to why yours doesn't work. Countless of us use the Serpas with our USG's.

Got your holster monday GI for my FNP-45 Tactical. My decision on it's still out, but the quality and craftsmanship and customer service is second to none. Just have to figure at at what O'clock I want to wear it at, as it is thicker than the CBST I'm used to. It is comfortable though :) Love the silent draw

Had a UPS box sitting on my door stop. Holster showed up. Working good. Sorry about all the hub-bub, but blackhawk definitely needs to list things a little better for thier holsters in retail stores. Otherwise online is easy.. Been playing with it and liking it. Breaking it in a little and getting smoother. The model number I listed is exactly the one.

The holsters you tried in the store; they had the same model number?

Glad it worked out for you.

No they didn't. I wasn't fully aware of all the differences. The package on the back listed FNs, berettas, SIGs, etc. It was a catch all packaging. I became very familiar with their in stock inventory. The next day had internet research, model number in hand, and found they did not have the right holster anywhere. Thus internet ordering and timely delivery.

When they listed FN's they meant FNP's.

The FsN USG has a distinctively marked package that says, FsN USG.

If you did not happen on one at the shop, you didn't see any FsN holsters there that were of the Serpa variety.

I recently ordered a shoulder rig from Black Hills Leather. Its very comfortable and durable. They make the holster to order and still got it to me in a week. It's on the pricey side but if you are looking for something to last a long time this is the place.

I recently found Westwoods Landing Holsters who make, among other things, SHOULDER HOLSTERS FOR PISTOLS WITH LIGHTS, not an easy thing to find. They're a modular set up. If you buy a shoulder harness and adaptor, and paddle, then any holster you buy from them works as belt, vertical or horizantal shoulder, or paddle. I rigged my Fiveseven as horizantal, which has adjustable cant to about 45 deg. The fit is surprisingly good for a "one size fits most" holster but I'd keep it canted grip up because if the thumb break came unsnapped, it could fall out. They also make mag pouches, (and single load pouches for revolvers), doubles for the off side and a single that attaches to the holster. Again, for a one size fits most product, they fit pretty well but the retaining strap could be longer. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the quality for the price.

For long-term use, I prefer Kydex. Would you mind taking a picture of your shoulder holster while in use? How do the straps of the harness secure? To your belt?

I also prefer Kydex but I've gone back to shoulder holsters because carrying on the waist tends to be hard on my guns (for instance, yesterday I was ib waist deep snow, and there
always seems to be dirt, brush, bumping and banging) and this was about the only shoulder holster choice if you're going to attach a light. The tie downs are heavy nylon alligator type clips, like suspnder clips, that will bite on anything from zero to about 3/16" thick. I'll post a photo or two when I get a minute but if it requires photo bucket we might be out of luck. I will say that the FiveseveN is kinda big to conceal horizantally in any holster so I might set it up vertically but then it'd take me all day to draw the darn thing.

I recently bought a five seven and also ordered a comptac CTAC holster IWB, I've used Comptac minataur for another handgun so I knew the Comptac brand is excellent. The CTAC fits the five seven like a glove and is tuckable, also adjustable cant. Love my CTAC and Five Seven combo, does take a little getting use to if you carry full time. Will use the moleskin man made adhesive felt for backing to add a little extra comfort.

I'm going to be getting my concealed carry by the time summer rolls around and have been reading all the holster threads on here over and over. I keep coming back to the blackhawk serpa with the carbon fiber. One thing that is holding me back from getting this one is in more than one thread people have talked about their Five seveNs getting what they call the serpa kiss or a mark or scratch from the black hawk holsters. I was just wondering how many of you have actually got this and if you have any pics of how bad it actually is? My gun is no safe queen by any means but I Have been known take very very good care of all my guns...lol it bugs the crap out of some people that I do that. I know my truck won't go a month without me detailing it completely. Maybe I'm just a clean freak.

I ordered these for my Sig Pro.

FYI THEY ARE NOT NEW.

One was fairly new and the other totally worn out. I am like WTF extra holster tried my 1911 in it but it fell out since this is made for the blocky Sig. Well then I tried my FsN and it fit perfectly.

Just a housekeeping note: I've moved some of the review type comments from the holster source thread over to the associated review thread (if there is one). If y'all notice a strange or missing comment, that is probably the reason.

Sorry Renegade, I somehow missed your post before. I checked their website & the FsN isn't listed on the "models supported" section. I can't put it on the list if we can't verify they make it. It says they may do custom work though :ponder:

I just got the Veridian belt holster for the fiveseven. There is a review on youtube panning the thing because you can't draw the firearm without two hands. Yes this is true, no quicks-draw-mcdraw in my future. Then again I don't need to pull a Barney Fife or like that dork that shot himself in the leg. I actually want a leg holster for woods walking.

Anyway, the real problem with the holster is that the holster is open on the end and about a half inch too short so the front sight (which is kind of high) sticks out the bottom and hooks on the holster. The holster is ok for my needs, which is really just to carry it in the woods but I would not trust it in a CCW situation.

I'm also trying to get a good horizontal shoulder rig out of Soft Armor. So far they are on attempt number three. There was no way the first two would come close to fitting the gun with the laser. Hopefully #3 will work which is on the way in the mail. The folks are Soft Armor have been very understanding. If you like shoulder rigs, they do a reasonable job, lots of adjustments and the price point is very good.

I also like the Battlestar Galactica holster from "The Vest Guy". If it would actually hold the fiveseven with a Veridian on it I would get one. I sent the company an email inquiring about it but it's been about a week with no reply. Either their email is not working or it's some little ma and pa part-time operation.

Anways, it is amazing at how little is available in the way of holsters with a laser/light. Most of the gun shops around here look like you grew a third eye right in front of them if you ask to see them.

I visited quite a few of the suppliers on the list but I had no success. I ordered a Veridian CL laser (no light) for my 5.7 and it seems to be queering the deal. Evidently the laser is difficult to work with. I am open for suggestions!

In a way this is a good thing. I now have an excuse to buy leather working tools.

Yes, lights/lasers make things more difficult. Even with this thread being a strictly FsN list, the people/companies named are not FsN specific. There are too many variants out there for people to stock or even keep molds of for every gun/light/laser combo. As such, your best option is custom & they'll probably need you to send the light/laser. ebay doesn't count as a source :skep:

However, the ad did state the manufacturer & provide a link we didn't have.
The website doesn't show they offer one for the FsN. But since you do have one & I like his "police" note :lmao: I'll add them :thumb:

Found another source. They are making hybrid leather/kydex IWB holsters.

They list them for the FsN and the FNP9.

Custom leather holster company. Looks like they will make a holster for any gun whether it be ankle, shoulder, belt owb or iwb.

I didn't see the FsN on their site so I contacted them. They do make holsters for the FsN.
Thanks, added

I pretty much assumed they would make anything to fit. When you go to their holster selection you just type in what you have and the details of it, no pre set drop down list.

Yes, but I do not (intentionally) list places which need you to send in your FsN so that they can make something for it - didn't know if this one was such a place. I have also seen places who say they do custom work but they don't make one for the FsN  I check that the sources either list the FsN or can make it without sending in your FsN before I put them on the list.

Ahh ok. Wasn't sure what this place was limited too. I'm considering having them make me a shoulder holster for my commander size 1911 (my dress gun) for when I have to rarely wear a suit. I'd like to give that gun a nice holster to go with since that's the only time I carry the thing.

Removed Westwoods Landing. Went to check something & found this:

Elite's people can make one for the FsN with Viridian C5L without sending in your gun now, since they used my laser for the mold.

Here is the finished product after i did some beveling and material removal/reshaping with my dremel:

Cost was $85 i think.

add in Kangroo Carry at http://www.kangaroocarry.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for conceal carry underneath shirts and polo's

the website has some great videos on wear, sizing and use. (which is why I'm not posting one :p )

a friend of mine has one and uses it to conceal a glock 45 (and did it very well, considering he has a very slender frame), so I bought one and use it when I cannot use a vest, jacket or other items. it hides my 5.7 real easy :thumb:

I will add that Tennessee Holster Company makes a very nice all leather, adjustable cant IWB for the FiveseveN. I have one for my XDm and one for my FN. It's one of the more comfortable holsters I've worn, including a Crossbreed and N82tactical.

I'm not affiliated in any way with Tennessee Holster Co. Just a happy camper/customer. And Larry and Isabel have fantastic CS.

Just found another leather holster to add to the list. All different shades of leather, and can have different accents for the reinforcement.

Here's the link: http://www.rgrizzleleather.com/about.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And they list the FNP9 and the FNP45 as well.

Does anyone know if by any chance the safariland duty holsters (like the 6285) will fit a X5L laser into the holster designated for TLR-1 or TLR-2?

They don't make it for the X5L, so I'm hoping it might work...

I recently received an IWB holster from Old Faithful Holsters, for my 5.7, and it is one of the most comfortable holsters I've worn.
After all day inet FL, it was very comfortable, yet isn't "broken in" yet.
It comes as a "kit". Yes you put it together- saves about $30 off the price. (some of us are value minded)..
Came design as a Crossbreed, leather and Kydex, and easily assembled.
Can be ordered with un-molded kydex for those of you with lights and/or lasers - mold your own!
Very good instructions, pictures, and videos on web site.
Well made with good leather, and I was pleased, after wearing it all day.

http://oldfaithfulholsters.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Check 'em out for those that need to mold their own.. Or those that want a quality holster at a good price.
My 5.7 "kit", forward cant, IWB is $38.97 + shipping.

Bought this from MDJ as a hold over until my raven is done.. not a bad holster for $37.98 shipped..
Even got it all adjusted with a heavy forward cant.. Very impressed for the price.

FN branded Galco holsters are available at CDNN. FiveseveN holster is $49.99. There are separate holsters for 45's and 40/9 that are $39.99. It appears to be the same holster I got when I bought my FNP45 earlier this year.

I contacted them last time you tried to put them on the list, they said they did not make one for the FiveseveN. I even forwarded you the email they sent me. To this day, they still have not contacted me to change that and the FsN is still not on their website list.

Since you provided pics, I will leave the post but I am not putting them on our list until they send me a message saying they do make one for the FsN (& its not something people have to send their gun in) or it goes on their website list.

Wow, seriously? I post pictures of the holster and mag carrier they made for me and tell you that my gun never left my possession (I live in Florida they are in Philadelphia) and you take this position. Obviously they are making holsters for this firearm? Why it's not posted on their website and why they have not contacted you to advise that they are indeed making holsters for the Five-seveN is something you should contact them and ask them about. Something like, "I just saw a custom holster you made for the FN Five-seveN and would like more information about it so I can add you to our forum list so people have another option when seeking a custom, light-bearing holster for this firearm." Maybe it's something that is new and I am the first run (doubtful- the holster is awesome and shows there was a lot of thought into designing it for this particular firearm). Or maybe they just got a demo in or bought one. Maybe someone gave them a red or blue gun to mold with. Or, maybe a friend loaned them one. Maybe you did not ask the right question or the right way when you asked them originally. Whatever the reason, they should be added to your list because they make top-notch stuff. :wall:

This is the email I response from when I emailed them the first time you tried to add them to our list:
Hello!

Thanks so much for your interest in PHLster holsters!

Unfortunately, at this time we do not have access to that particular model of pistol. If we are able to procure one in the future, we will get in touch with you regarding placing an order. Alternately, if you are local or plan on visiting Philadelphia, you are welcome to stop by our shop and have a custom holster fabricated and fitted the same day.

Thanks again and have a great day!
Sincerely,
The PHLster Team
I already forwarded this to you back on July 20, complete with the name & email address of the one who sent it.
I cannot post a source for holster when the company tells me they don't make it. This is because I am not going to send members on a wild goose chase trying to find a holster only to be turned away.
For whatever reason you're getting riled up about this, think of the member who is looking for a holster. He/she reads your raving reviews & decides that is what he/she wants. He/she contacts the company only to be told they don't make a holster for the FsN. Then that member is mad at us for wasting his/her time.

If you want them listed so badly, maybe you can get them to fix their website or send me another email correcting their oversight. It's not my job to make sure they are doing theirs.

But that was July 20 and this is now September 12. I think it was something that was on the books but had not been put into the inventory. I am thinking that my post here as a member with pics should be enough... But, I will communicate to them and have them get in touch with you about this. PM me your email please so I can have them contact you direct. I'm not riled up - just stating something obvious. Not everyone has a website that advertises every make and model of gun a holster is available for. In fact I've had several big name ones that I had to call direct to find out if they COULD make one for a popular but not listed firearm and they said they would but it was not part of their regular line. :thumb:

Holster problem solved. I have a Crimson Trace Laser 201 on my FN . A great set up.
I found the perfect holster on the CT website.
It will accommodate my FN with the laser. Made by Tailor Tactical.
I don't see the one I have listed on the manufacturers website but it is on the CT website.
$35 delivered. I have a pic of it but can't figure out how to imbed it.
The holster is for a 1911 but fits my FN great. http://www.crimsontrace.com/products/ty ... rs/81-1122" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Stay safe, carry

That's not a holster, that's a gun pouch :p
But when you're talking holsters that can handle lasers/lights, there aren't very many options :skep:

Added, thanks.

It seems a lot of people like the "pouch" as it is sold out on CT website..
If you know of another over the counter scabbard, pouch or what ever that will accommodate my FN with the CL laser I'll consider it..

I might as well toss another hat into this ring (it is my hat, so I'll toss it where ever I want!)

Central Illinois Custom Kydex

Here is a customer "rocking" a holster and double mag carrier for her Kimber TLE/RL II with TLR-1:

Here is a "better" (debatable!) picture of that holster:
Image

There are many more pics on my Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/CentralIllCustomKydex" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't have any pictures of FsN holsters, but I can make them! I can also make Kydex/leather hybrid holsters as well.
