Yeah. He seems like a stand up guy. UPS delivered another package that day to his wife, but the ammo wasn't there. The investigation will be concluded soon, right now all I can do is wait.

Re: WTB .22 LR bulk
I have not seen any .22 LR on the shelves since Obummer got re-elected. I don't have enough either. I usually shoot 1,500 rounds each summer. I only have enough for a year and a half at that rate. Then what?
I did not stock up because I thought 19.99 for a box of Federal Bulk Pack (525 rounds) was ridiculous. I mean... I can remember paying 7.99 for the same thing at Cabela's a few years ago. Now a box of 525 is selling for $50 plus on GunBroker. And that's the only place I can find it. I would gladly pay 19.99 now... if I could find some.

50+ for Federal bulk? I wonder what those 1600 round bulk dry boxes of CCI are worth now...

Re: WTB .22 LR bulk
I remember only a couple years ago, when I would open up the Naval ROTC range at the University of Texas at 3am in the morning during finals week, shoot 1500 rounds of .22 while training for NRA collegiate. Those were good de-stressing, cathartic moments.
I'll cherish the freedom in those memories, forever.
The Naval ROTC range was demolished the year I graduated (a year and a half ago). We were so blessed. It was an open range, one of the very few any college in America had. Most are tiny, stuffy, and have lanes that restrict movement.
And now that ammunition prices are high... we should be so thankful we've gotten the opportunity to have shot so much and so many platforms. Think about it. How many co-workers - people who have never even talked about guns in their life, before - have come up to you and asked you about purchasing a firearm? Or tell you they just got one?
They've never experienced the joy and pure, unadulterated fun of just going out there and exercising their freedoms while making bangbangpewpews.
We are so blessed. Instead of getting bitter at ammo prices, so-called gouging, etc., we should look back and be thankful we have had experiences that so many can only dream of in America, and overseas, across the world.
Smile, always.

Re: WTB .22 LR bulk
So Blue... what kind of ammo do you use when you shoot competitions? I am cheap. I cringe at paying the prices they ask for "match grade" .22 shells.

Mike, team useD the Swiss .22 ammunition, which has nickel plated brass casings, and extremely consistent pressures and burn. They shot these out of match grade Pardinis and Benellis.Vortec MAX wrote:So Blue... what kind of ammo do you use when you shoot competitions? I am cheap. Because I like to give the special finger to snobby, high-brow competition gear, (especially foreign ones from Italy),
I used a vintage bone stock Ruger Mk I and Federal 550 bulk pack ammunition.
You can probably search my name up on the NRA Collegiate database. I beat a lot of Aggies and their $3000 match .22LR guns with my $200 AMERICAN RUGER. I deserve no credit as it isn't an attribute of my skill with such a mocked and venerable cartridge, but to the Made-in-America Ruger Mk I that had hundreds of thousands of rounds down it.
Because,
'MURICA.
If you want good standard .22LR, use CCI. If you want good match .22LR, use Wolf match, RWS Gold match, or LaPua. A box of 50 for some of them? $24+
I will always use bulk pack because Blue gives no ****'s. Match grade is overrated, compared to my sub-MOA rocks. I'm kidding. Match grade would get .30 groupings at 15 meters, while bulk pack would get around 1 inch.
I must have eaten coOkiEz or something, because this post seems really hyperactive.
Mike, just avoid Remington ANYTHING ammo and you'll be fine. I've probably shot 18-25 different lines of .22LR ammunition. If you want detailed information on which ammunition or platform shoots MOA/sub-MOA out of each other, send me a PM so I don't have to bore the forum with .22LR test results.

Re: WTB .22 LR bulk
Good info Blue. I always love to hear from someone who has tried it all. I usually shoot the Federal bulk stuff, even when I compete (although that's not often). I too have had bad experiences with Remington. I bought a bulk pack where 1 in 10 were duds. One in every magazine on average. That is terrible QC.
I also like CCI and have a pretty good stash of that. It's more expensive than the Federal bulk however.
My favorite .22 is made in Switzerland. It's a Sig/Hammerli Trailside. I also recently bougtht a Ruger MK III 22/45 Lite, but I have not fired a round through it yet. I put a snap cap in it to try the trigger and thought it was terrible. So I bought a Volquartzen trigger upgrade kit for it.
I think that is awesome that you did that well with a stock Ruger. Did it have a stock trigger too?
Thanks again for the info.

Re: WTB .22 LR bulk
It was bone stock, but Ruger Mk's have good-enough triggers, IMO. I have not tried the new Lite's, they aren't my cup of tea. Too flashy. I like the subdued and don't like standing out in the crowd.Vortec MAX wrote:Good info Blue. I always love to hear from someone who has tried it all. Hammerli's are nice. The NRA Collegiate scene use them, also. Along with S&W 41's.
Yeah, stay away from Remington.

Re: WTS 5.7 brass
wow i guess my once fired sold by me at $22 shipped for 140rnds was a good deal for someone? didn't know it was so valuable.
Re: WTS 5.7 brass
Yep, I have seen some go on gunbroker for $800 for 2k brass...most goes for a bit less, every once in a while a bit more... Pretty crazy. And most of those are with another 5-15 for shipping. So for what's out there 35/100 is fair.
Re: WTS 5.7 brass
Dang...that's flippin crazy. Re: WTS 5.7 brass
That's insane! There is no way someone who reloads paid $800 for 2K pieces of brass!
That had to be a panic buyer who has never reloaded before.
They should save their coins for their pending ER visit.

I guess the 1,000 pieces I sold here for $60 was kind of a deal.

Re: Discussions from Classifieds
Can y'all do us a favor & run a search before making a new feedback thread for someone? Seems like whenever I check in here lately, threads have to be merged :skep:
Everyone is making new threads without checking to see if there is already an existing thread. Yes, I realize that means more mouse clicking - sorry.
To do this:
In the Tactical Search window in top right, type (or copy/paste) in the screen name & press the enter key. This will bring up anything with that member's name in the thread title and any thread his/her/its screen name is in.
OR
Just below the Tactical Search window in top right there is a link, "Advanced search" - click on that.
Type (or copy/paste) the screen name in the keyword search, then next to "Search within:" select "Topic titles only" & then click on "Search"
You don't even have select the subforum as, odds are, there wouldn't be a thread titled by a user name elsewhere on the public forum. Yes, there are a couple of exceptions but the list will be short, just select the thread from the feedback forum.
Thanks.

Re: WTT 2 PMR30 for 5.7
For what it is worth, my PMR-30 is at auction now on the Gunrunner sitting at $1040 with one day to go. A 5x7 is at $1860 with a day to go. Who knows what the final prices will be. Just a heck of a lot more than a year ago. Unreal, like money has no value any more when it comes to guns.

Different knife, that one doesn't have the blacked out blade. And for collectors, that matters, how much is up for debate, or more importantly current market. And I have no interest in the sale. Also might be better to pm the seller that.

Please keep discussions in this thread and out of the ads. It would be easier for all those concerned if you were to provide a link to the relevant ad.
Also, if you don't like/agree with the price someone is asking then you can PM/email them about it, post your comment(s) here, or simply ignore the ad.

That said, when I sold a couple of my guns to a store, they didn't ask for proof of ownership nor did they run the serial numbers to see if the guns were stolen. In any case, you still should have legal recourse against the uncle at the very least.
Agreed, you should be able to press charges & get your gun back unless he had your permission to sell it.Buffman wrote:wait how did he legally do that?User42 wrote:I recently found out my uncle who I loaned my five seven to sold it to a gun store. Re: Discussions from Classifieds
Ok if you want the back story, first I got screwed by my insurance company. I used USAA for banking and insurance and updated my information when I moved, and much later I randomly get an automated call saying they are going to cancel my insurance immediately if I don't pay my bill. When I look it up I find that instead of notifying me that I was a few dollars short for the next six months insurance payment, the insurance section was happy to bill the bank section twice a month causing the bank to deduct their $60 bounced payment fee until there literally was just change left in that savings account. Only then did they call, when the next bounced payment wasn't going to get them another fee. So I find out I owe them for the last 5 months insurance that was never paid, the next six months insurance if I want to keep them, and that the money they soaked up in fees before notifying me of all this is just gone (which was just shy of paying the last 6 months insurance). Also its my fault, because I didn't know updating my address/email/phone in the website for the insurance didn't update it for the bank side too, even though its the same exact same website, apparently they don't talk and the bank was sending those bounce payment notifications to a ship floating around in the gulf (and the insurance was happy to let that happen until the bank wouldn't get their $60 fee again, funny how that works).
So on that note, I needed to come up with money fast. My uncle is a nice guy but not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to guns. I instructed him how to use and gave him some ammo for his first one, which was a bare bones stock glock 17 he way overpaid for from some gun store not too long ago. I told him when he showed it to me that it was nice but its a $600 gun at best that he could have picked up a perfectly functional used one for $400-500, and that $850+ was them taking him for a sucker. Anyways I explained my situation to him, that I didn't want to sell my fiveseven but I need $1000 immediately to restore my car insurance, so if he loaned me the money he could hold the gun as collateral. I figured when I had the money I could buy it back, and even if he said he wanted to keep it, it would still be in the family and he could give it to my aunt if she tried it and liked it (in other words, if she tried it at all). I also clearly explained that while I'm only asking to borrow $1000 from you, its a $1200 gun + the mount/sight + all the extras and such I have for it, that I could easily get $1400-1600 for everything if I wanted to sell it online and never see it again. My last words when I left him for the gun were "Please don't do anything stupid and take it to a pawn shop or something, if you want your money back tell me and I will put it up for sale, so I can pay you back plus interest"
Well, without consulting me at all he brought it to the same gun store that took him for a ride on the glock. They saw the red dot sight, the pile of 30 round mags with it, and the hogue grip on it and asked him how much he paid for it, and he said "Uhhh $1000". So yea, they took him at $800 for it. It's hard to be mad at him when (besides the fact that I specifically told him not to do that) he really didn't know any better, and besides that he <profanity> himself out of $200 on the deal as well... Normally I would feel inclined to pay him back the money he lost in that deal, but really he <profanity> me out of more money doing it than he lost himself. I can't and wouldn't press charges on him, but now I know not to trust him with anything more valuable than a pencil. I kind of want to be an <profanity> and say next time you want to go to that gun store, just slow down and throw some $20's out the window on your way past, it will be cheaper than actually going in.
Can't? I still think you could since ownership was never transferred. But it is your call and no matter how wrong you are for not sticking it to him in some way :p there isn't anything we can do about it.
Except maybe flip you some grief over it  :p
And I could (& would) definitely be mad at someone for doing something like that - family or not.
As for the bank & insurance, anything to get more money right?

9 replies and only one (maybe two) actual reason posted to get the ammo at cost. Should be easy for that person to get the ammo if people can't do any better.
Luckily I don't need any but I am curious what the Fightclub ammo is.

Are you drunk posting again PK? :skep:
It's a contest, cost can't be posted until the winner decides which ammo he/she/it wants.
And there are no links to auction sites in that thread. Or this one for that matter.
As for the kitteh, curiosity ain't the only thing it needs to worry about.

I emailed Galco about a shoulder system for the MKII. They emailed me back and it didn't look promising. I'd post the email but apparently I deleted it. As of right now, it didn't look like they were planning on making one, at least not for a while.

Re: Discussions from Classifieds
I emailed them aswell. Here is the reply.
Hello Mr. Yelraek,
Unfortunately, the only deciding factor in when a product will be available is the demand for the product. Please fill out a product request form for that firearm type and holster model. Should Galco come out with any fits, they will be listed on the web site as soon as the first production run is scheduled and we can accept orders.

So. We should all put in a product request form.

Re: Discussions from Classifieds
Yep, that was identical to what mine said. Maybe if a few hundred more people emailed them, they would put it in the lineup. I have put the MKII in the VHS system, and I might use it occasionally, but it's just not a real great fit. I'll try it out a while and see if I can stretch it. Maybe after a month or so I'll find it acceptable.

Re: Discussions from Classifieds
I'm not sure if this is allowed... moderators please stop me if not. But here is the link to Galco's product request form.
http://www.usgalco.com/Request.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There isn't any commitment to buy the product. It just seems to be a form for people to say what they want.
Keep me posted on how well it fits.

Correct, but Mass doesn't allow you to own a fiveseven unless you are military or LEO? I believe it is not on the allowed list for firearms. They are so freaken strict with what handguns they allow.

Re: WTB: Five-Seven (5.7) USG or IOM - Black

Ewet, stay patient and look for the right one. If you are not in a hurry, you will find it. I have purchased three, and sold one of them. Personally, I really like the IOM with the round trigger guard, but I have a black USG that is pretty nice too. I have handled the Mark II, but have not fired one. I have a few guns to choose from in my safe, but my IOM is the one I want on me when I need it.
