shot a hog today with my 5.7 dropped her in 1 shot, my friends didnt think the 5.7x28 round is a good round so i proved them wrong by cutting the head open and finding the round, and showing them the cavity that the ss197 left. im thoroughly pleased with the damage this did, i really cant wait to try some elite ammo. the shot was taken from 20-25yrds. here are the photos, please excuse how nasty they are, the round penetrated the skull, and shattered the jaw bone.

If you do it again, I would like to see a shoulder shot (typical for most wild game). A head-shot is one of those things where you might be able to drop an animal using just about anything including a 22 mag.

How does the head of the hog compare to any given part of a human body, in terms of bone density/fat/muscle mass etc? If you could make a guess, of course.

Pretty close, I'd say our brains take up a much bigger percent of our head, especially the upper part vs the hog.

So in essence, we'd be pretty easy to kill vs a hog kill.

Btw, I'll go ahead and make the claim even though I've never shot a hog with ss197 before;

ss197 will kill a hog when shot in the correct part of the flank (not to high, as this will hit the low spine of the hog).

I'll bet anyone who wants to contest it.

Well to be honest I was going to rip off 3 rounds into her shoulder but she stopped eating my garden long enough to look at me, so I too the moment to put it between her eyes, and all the shows I've ever watched say pigs are the closest thing to humans. Also id like to give some credit where its due, blue, thanks for the video on how to grip the 5.7. if you hadn't shown me, I might have used the sks or xdm45 with dpx rounds.

I checked, and it seems I've been doing it the way you say NATURALLY... I guess I'm inherently bad a$$. That's cool. I did notice that I always reposition the weapon AS I PICK IT UP.
