knifecenter.com and cutlershoppe.com?

Post by fzr confused » 11 Sep 2012, 16:59

has anyone purchased a knife from knifecenter.com? or cutleryshoppe.com? i am looking at this benchmade

http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/BM275B ... 10-Handles" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

or

http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/BM275S ... 10-Handles" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

it is a bit cheaper with their site, but i have never heard of them and wanted some input first. i would really like their auto adamas, but this site only sells them to LEO/military??? i have found it elsewhere and it does not say LEO/mil only...

http://www.cutleryshoppe.com/benchmade2 ... matic.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

second, if you were to spend in the ballpark of 150-160, what knife (of this type) would you buy? i am looking for a large folder, does not need to be EDC. i know the reviews on the adamas is that it is a great knife, but a bit too large for EDC. is the auto version worth the extra 40 bucks? anyone know how these compare opening wise to my sog trident assisted opener?

Yea i have used knife center before thats where i picked up my 176 SOCP Dagger (benchmade as well). You do have to sign up for an account before they will disclose pricing information... its because they offer a pretty good discount and in order to sell benchmade knives they are not allowed to use their discounted price as a marketing tool.

Anyone have experience with this auto? I would rather buy the auto, but want it to also lock well. I am SURE it being a benchmade, that it locks very well...?

if your worried about the locking mechanism go here http://www.benchmade.com/products/mechanisms.aspx this will explain the types of locking mechanism. I've always found my knifes @ Benchmade's website and then look else where for the knife.Benchmade is a wholesaler too and most of the time you can get their knives from third party sellers for cheaper then Benchmade sells to the general public...but their website is usually light years beyond others.

well it actually came in the mail today :). man this knife really is pretty sweet! to me i see no reason i could not or would not EDC it like most reviews claim. yea it is a little bigger, but it is not that bad. the axis lock on it works AMAZING! there is no play in any direction :)
